Low-intensity illumination for lensless digital holographic microscopy with minimized sample interaction. [PDF]

open access: yesBiomed Opt Express, 2022
Exposure to laser light alters cell culture examination via optical microscopic imaging techniques, also based on label-free coherent digital holography. To mitigate this detrimental feature, researchers tend to use a broader spectrum and lower intensity of illumination, which can decrease the quality of holographic imaging due to lower resolution and ...

Imaging in digital holographic microscopy

open access: goldOptics Express, 2007
We present a theoretical formalism for three dimensional (3D) imaging properties of digital holographic microscopy (DHM). Through frequency analysis and visualization of its 3D optical transfer function, an assessment of the imaging behavior of DHM is given. The results are compared with those from other types of interference microscopy.

Lipid quantification in living microalgal cultures with digital holographic microscopy [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Photonics, 2022
Large amounts of lipids are stored inside lipid droplets by some microalgae. Since these lipids can be used to produce nutraceuticals and biodiesel in a sustainable way, research is developing on fast non-destructive methods to quantify and monitor the ...

Label-Free Analysis of Urine Samples with In-Flow Digital Holographic Microscopy [PDF]

open access: yesBiosensors, 2023
Urinary tract infections are among the most frequent infectious diseases and require screening a great amount of urine samples from patients. However, a high percentage of samples result as negative after urine culture plate tests (CPTs), demanding a ...

Grading of glioma tumors using digital holographic microscopy [PDF]

open access: yesHeliyon
Gliomas are the most common type of cerebral tumors; they occur with increasing incidence in the last decade and have a high rate of mortality. For efficient treatment, fast accurate diagnostic and grading of tumors are imperative. Presently, the grading

Principles and techniques of digital holographic microscopy [PDF]

open access: bronzeJournal of Photonics for Energy, 2010
Digital holography is an emerging field of new paradigm in general imaging applications. We present a review of a subset of the research and development activities in digital holography, with emphasis on microscopy techniques and applications. First, the basic results from the general theory of holography, based on the scalar diffraction theory, are ...

Tip Crack Imaging on Transparent Materials by Digital Holographic Microscopy [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Imaging, 2019
With this study, we propose a method to image the tip crack on transparent materials by using digital holographic microscopy. More specifically, an optical system based on Mach−Zehnder interference along with an inverted microscopy (Olympus CKX53 ...
