Concrete modulus of elasticity assessment using digital image correlation
This paper presents the use of the technique of digital image correlation for obtaining the elasticity modulus of concrete. The proposed system uses a USB microscope that captures images at a rate of five frames per second. The stored data are correlated

Optical correlators for automated rendezvous and capture [PDF]
Two dimensional image correlation is a robust technique for recognizing known objects and determining their position with respect to the sensing platform. This capability is of paramount importance to vehicles which must rendezvous and capture using only

Experimentally induced errors in digital image correlation measurement of small strains with large gradients [PDF]
Digital Image Correlation or DIC is an already widespread and commonly used technique to perform full field strain measurements. Usually, a so called 'speckle pattern' is put on the specimen and then, pictures are taken first in the undeformed stage ...

In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting

Rheocasting versus Die Casting: An Insight into the Low‐Cycle Fatigue Behavior of AlSi7Mg0.6
The study compares rheocast lightweight components with high‐pressure die cast materials regarding microstructure and fatigue behavior. Rheocast process offers higher efficiency due to lower casting temperatures. Despite some microstructural differences, both processes show similar strengths (yield strength 125 MPa, tensile strength 240 MPa).

Can Ti‐Based MXenes Serve as Solid Lubricants for Brake Applications? A Tribological Study
This study explores the first implementation of Ti‐based MXenes materials in brake pad friction composite material. The resulting composite material exhibits a 48% reduction in the wear rate; alongside significant improvements are observed for thermal and mechanical properties.

Geometric and rediametric distortion in spaceborne SAR imagery [PDF]
Distortions inherent on synthetic aperture radio (SAR) imagery and the development to date of unsupervised postprocessing rectification techniques are described. The geometric distortion can be divided into two categories: (1) distortion derived from the

Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...
