A Comparative Study of Image Denoising Algorithms [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
With the recent advancements in the field of information industry, critical data in the form of digital images is best understood by the human brain. Therefore, digital images play a significant part and backbone role in many areas such as image processing, vision computing, robotics, and bio-medical.

The Topological Complexity of Spaces of Digital Jordan Curves [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
This research is motivated by studying image processing algorithms through a topological lens. The images we focus on here are those that have been segmented by digital Jordan curves as a means of image compression. The algorithms of interest are those that continuously morph one digital image into another digital image. Digital Jordan curves have been

DIGITAL PROCESSING OF TELEVISION IMAGES

open access: yes, 2023
In the article describe the estimation of the accuracy of image reconstruction by lifting filters, that in video codecs, the main compression of the video stream is provided by eliminating inter-frame redundancy using motion compensation methods for image fragments of adjacent frames.

Development of 4T1 breast cancer mouse model system for preclinical carbonic anhydrase IX studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX) is a well‐recognised therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker in cancer. We developed and characterised a robust murine breast cancer model system that is suitable for CAIX studies in vitro and in vivo—it comprises both CAIX‐positive and CAIX‐negative controls and provides a solid platform for the comprehensive ...

Unsupervised Classification of Intrusive Igneous Rock Thin Section Images using Edge Detection and Colour Analysis

open access: yes, 2017
Classification of rocks is one of the fundamental tasks in a geological study. The process requires a human expert to examine sampled thin section images under a microscope.

Knockout of the mitoribosome rescue factors Ict1 or Mtrfr is viable in zebrafish but not mice: compensatory mechanisms underlying each factor's loss

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Mitochondria contain two mitoribosome rescue factors, ICT1 and MTRFR (C12orf65). ICT1 also functions as a mitoribosomal protein in mice and humans, and its loss is lethal. Although Mtrfr knockout mice could not be generated, knockout zebrafish lines for ict1 and mtrfr were established.
