The RUCA Project and Digital Inclusion
2007 Latin American Network Operations and Management Symposium, 2007The XO (OLPC's "one hundred dollar laptop") is under evaluation by the Brazilian Government as a possible educational tool and also as a means of promoting digital inclusion. The laptops would be distributed to school children to use during classes and to take home. The RUCA project was created to validate the network capabilities of the XOs.

Pattern Recognition Letters, 2009The aim of this paper is to establish a new mathematical model for digital spaces. We introduce the concept of weak inclusion. We will show that every digital space can be considered as a space endowed with a weak inclusion. This structure generates a pretopology which is compatible with the classical concept of connectedness for a digital space.
