Orthophotomaps from digital orthophotos
Photogrammetria, 1985Abstract After explaining the contents of an analog orthophotomap, the production of digital orthophotomaps is described. The process consists of the production of: - map surface (here: digital orthophoto), - map frame, - map lettering (including marginal data), - sheet assembly of the orthophotomap.

Digital image processing for orthophoto generation
Photogrammetria, 1985Abstract Investigationsabout the feasibility of differential rectification using digital image processing techniques are presented. For the special case of producing printed orthophoto maps, a pixel size of 0.167 mm in the orthophoto matrix is sufficiently small for a good visual quality.

Generation of Digital Orthophotos from IKONOS Satellite Images
Journal of Surveying Engineering, 2003Due to its high spatial resolution, IKONOS imagery has the highest potential for large-scale topographic mapping of the resource satellites currently available. The orthorectification of IKONOS images thus becomes an important task. Since raw image data would, in general, not be provided by the satellite company, we have developed a method that ...

Picture histogram and interpretation of digital orthophotos in forest management
ISPA 2005. Proceedings of the 4th International Symposium on Image and Signal Processing and Analysis, 2005., 2005The paper presents the possibilities of using histograms of a stand scene and visual interpretation of a digital orthophoto to estimate stand density and condition. Black-and-white aerial photographs with an approximate scale M ≈ 1:20, 000 and 60% overlap, obtained during cyclical survey of the Republic of Croatia, were used for this purpose ...

Digital Orthophoto as a tool for the restoration of monuments.
2000For the restoration of monuments it is now becoming normal practice to carry out a preliminary study of the monument before starting any kind of work. The metric survey is one of the main operations required. For this reason, photogrammetry applications already have a large bibliography.

Appliance of the Digital Orthophoto Map (DOM) Technology in Urban Land Management
2009 International Conference on Digital Image Processing, 2009Abstract—this paper firstly discussed what kind of special features the application of photogrammetry in urban land management need to face. And then, analyzed that the development of the modern digital photogrammetry technology provide the possibility the DOM technology applied in the management of urban land effectively.

A concept for topographic map updating using digital orthophotos
Photogrammetria, 1985Abstract A method for topographic map updating is based on two digital orthophotos from digital aerial photographs. The first orthophoto corresponds to the old level of the map, the second contains, among others, the updating information. The working-steps begin with orthophoto computation and end with the generation of a screened groundplan of the ...

A study on qualitative assessment of LiDAR based digital orthophotos generation
2012 International Conference on System Engineering and Technology (ICSET), 2012For the purpose of rapid map updating, an accurate digital orthophotos is very essential to be generated. The introduction of LiDAR technology enables accurate production of Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and Digital Surface Model (DSM) of an area. These datasets can be the input into a digital photogrammetry system to enable automatic generation of ...

Geologic Mapping on Digital Orthophoto Quadrangle (DOQ) Images in Kansas
Transactions of the Kansas Academy of Science (1903-), 1995Geologists usually map in the field on topographic quadrangle sheets or airphotos, and this information is transferred to a basemap in the office by a cartographer or research assistant. The geologist then has to check the map and make corrections (if necessary), and this procedure may occur several times depending on the accuracy of the copy [e.g ...
