A Spike-Based Neuromorphic Architecture of Stereo Vision

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurorobotics, 2020
The problem of finding stereo correspondences in binocular vision is solved effortlessly in nature and yet it is still a critical bottleneck for artificial machine vision systems.

Microcomb-Driven Optical Convolution for Car Plate Recognition

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
The great success of artificial intelligence (AI) calls for higher-performance computing accelerators, and optical neural networks (ONNs) with the advantages of high speed and low power consumption have become competitive candidates. However, most of the

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Method for designing specialized computing systems based on hardware and software co-optimization

open access: yesРоссийский технологический журнал
Objectives. Following the completion of development stages due to transistor scaling (Dennard’s law) and an increased number of general-purpose processor cores (limited by Amdahl’s law), further improvements in the performance of computing systems ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Deep Learning for Black-Box Modeling of Audio Effects

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Virtual analog modeling of audio effects consists of emulating the sound of an audio processor reference device. This digital simulation is normally done by designing mathematical models of these systems.

Applicability of mitotic figure counting by deep learning: a development and pan‐cancer validation study

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In this study, we developed a deep learning method for mitotic figure counting in H&E‐stained whole‐slide images and evaluated its prognostic impact in 13 external validation cohorts from seven different cancer types. Patients with more mitotic figures per mm2 had significantly worse patient outcome in all the studied cancer types except colorectal ...
