Form Factor Improvement of Smart-Pixels for Vision Sensors through 3-D Vertically- Integrated Technologies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
While conventional CMOS active pixel sensors embed only the circuitry required for photo-detection, pixel addressing and voltage buffering, smart pixels incorporate also circuitry for data processing, data storage and control of data interchange.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Low Power Implementation of Non Power-of-Two FFTs on Coarse-Grain Reconfigurable Architectures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The DRM standard for digital radio broadcast in the AM band requires integrated devices for radio receivers at very low power. A System on Chip (SoC) call DiMITRI was developed based on a dual ARM9 RISC core architecture.

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Classification of foreign fibers using deep learning and its implementation on embedded system

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2019
In recent years, the foreign fibers in cotton lint significantly affect the quality of the final cotton textile products. It remains a challenging task to accurately distinguish foreign fibers from cotton.

Development of a Prediction Model for Progression Risk in High‐Grade Gliomas Based on Habitat Radiomics and Pathomics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the value of constructing models based on habitat radiomics and pathomics for predicting the risk of progression in high‐grade gliomas. Methods This study conducted a retrospective analysis of preoperative magnetic resonance (MR) images and pathological sections from 72 patients diagnosed with high‐grade gliomas (52 ...

Recent Advances in Ultrahigh-Speed Wireline Receivers With ADC-DSP-Based Equalizers

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Solid-State Circuits Society
High-speed wireline data transceivers (TRX) with analog-to-digital converter (ADC) followed by digital signal processor (DSP) on the receiver (RX) equalizer became popular for applications requiring >100-Gb/s per-lane data rate over long-reach (LR)

Structure–Function Decoupling of the Sensorimotor and Default Mode Networks in Black Americans With MS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...
