Circularly Polarized Perovskite Photodetector with Photocurrent Dissymmetry Factors of up to 1.95 Enabled by Liquid Crystal

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Photodetectors made using perovskite single crystals in combination with free‐standing cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) polymer films exhibit photocurrent dissymmetry factors up to 1.95 for 520 nm circularly polarized light (CPL) excitation. The CPL spectral response of the photodetector is tunable over a broad range of wavelengths by tuning the ...

Modeling 5G-NR-Based Positioning Accuracy in Urban Environments

open access: yesIEEE Access
Modeling phenomena influencing radiocommunication networks, such as 5G-NR, is a key aspect during their development and further optimization. In this paper, one proposes a model, for three different scenario types in urban environments, for user ...

Shape‐Reconfigurable Crack‐Based Strain Sensor with Ultrahigh and Tunable Sensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A highly sensitive crack‐based sensor with tunable strain detection capabilities is demonstrated through controlled nanocrack formation in a line‐patterned shape memory polymer substrate. The sensor design integrates thermoplastic polyurethane and poly(lactic acid), enabling thermo‐responsive reconfiguration of crack geometry.

Radio, memory and digital

open access: yes, 2020
This contribution reflects on the state of the art of the digitisation processes of radio archives, looking at the various forms of digitisation of radio archives existing in Europe. We analyse the Dutch, Spanish and British models, the cases of informal archives and finally we pay particular attention to the Italian case, where in 2010 Rai inaugurated

Improving the Capacity Retention of Poly(vinylphenothiazine) as Battery Electrode Material by Pore Size Engineering of Porous N‐Doped Carbon Nanospheres as Conductive Additive

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By using (meso)porous N‐doped carbon nanospheres with tailored intraparticle porosity and constant particle size as conductive carbon in PVMPT‐based organic battery electrodes, the complete volume of the carbon is accessible for the immobilization of PVMPT, resulting in high accessible specific capacities while maintaining a good rate capability and ...

Radio interferometric observations of two core-dominated triple radio sources at z>3

open access: yes, 2010
Aims. We selected two radio quasars (J1036+1326 and J1353+5725) based on their 1.4-GHz radio structure, which is dominated by a bright central core and a pair of weaker and nearly symmetric lobes at ~10" angular separation.

Narrowband Detection via Charge Collection Narrowing Organic Photodetector Enabled by Low Bandgap Random Terpolymer for Biometric Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel low‐bandgap random terpolymer is designed for narrow band detection in charge collection narrowing (CCN) based organic photodetectors. With a relative thin active layer (<1 µm), the CCN‐based devices achieved a narrowband response of 68 nm full‐width‐at‐half‐maximum at 916 nm, together with Responsivity values of 0.13 A W−1 and dark current of ...

Adventures in Radio Astronomy Instrumentation and Signal Processing [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
This thesis describes the design and implementation of several instruments for digitizing and processing analogue astronomical signals collected using radio telescopes. Modern radio telescopes have significant digital signal processing demands that are typically best met using custom processing engines implemented in Field Programmable Gate Arrays ...
