Digital Coherent Technology for Optical Fiber and Radio-Over-fiber Transmission Systems

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2014
Current status and the future perspective of digital coherent technology for optical fiber and radio-over-fiber (RoF) transmission systems will be reviewed. For the starter, we will review two key digital coherent techniques; the coherent receiver and compensation techniques for the fiber nonlinearity-induced impairments.

An All-photonic Digital Radio over Fiber architecture

2011 IEEE Swedish Communication Technologies Workshop (Swe-CTW), 2011
Radio over Fiber (RoF) technology uses optical fiber links to distribute RF signals from a central station to multiple remote access units due to its ability to provide simple antenna front ends, increased capacity, and multi radio wireless access coverage.

FPGA-Based adaptive digital predistortion for radio-over-fiber links

Microprocessors and Microsystems, 2006
Abstract Even though the application of radio-over-fiber links is widely used in wireless communication, nonlinear distortion limits their dynamic range. In this paper, a hardware implementation of an adaptive digital predistortion system for ROF links is described.

Optimized digital radio over fiber system for medium range communication

Optics Communications, 2019
Abstract In recent years, the demand of efficient and broadband wireless access has escalated, for which Radio over Fiber (RoF) is considered as an appropriate solution. In this paper, we present a Digitized Transmission of 20 MHz LTE signal having 64 quadrature amplitude modulation over 70 Km of Standard Single Mode Fiber (SSMF) for broadband ...

Investigation of broadband digital predistortion for broadband radio over fiber transmission systems

Optics Communications, 2016
Abstract In future broadband cloud radio access networks (C-RAN), front-haul transmission systems play a significant role in performance and cost of C-RAN. Broadband and high linearity radio over fiber (RoF) transmission systems are considered a promising solution for the front-haul.

All-digital Outphasing Modulator for Radio-over-Fiber System

2020 50th European Microwave Conference (EuMC), 2021
An all-digital outphasing modulator for radio-over-fiber (RoF) system is presented. In this system, a pair of rectangular outphasing signals are generated in an all-digital outphasing modulator as 1-bit streaming data and transmitted to an optical fiber. In measurement results, signal to noise ratio (SNR) of 30 dB is achieved for 100 MHz bandwidth OFDM

An experimental study on digital predistortion for radio-over-fiber links

Asia Communications and Photonics Conference and Exhibition, 2010
Digital predistortion for directly modulated RoF links is experimentally investigated. A memory-polynomial-based predistorter model is directly identified from measurements of the baseband OFDM input-output signals and using the least-squares method in Matlab. The RoF link nonlinearity has been reduced implementing this technique.

Radio over Fiber for Implementing Digital Television Network in Indonesia

2020 International Seminar on Intelligent Technology and Its Applications (ISITIA), 2020
Indonesia launched a program to transition from analog to digital television (DTV) systems to improve the efficiency and quality of signals; however, the infrastructure available to support this was challenged by the country's unique topography and population distribution.
