Conventional versus digital radiography in detecting root canal type in maxillary premolars: an in vitro study.

open access: yesFrontiers in Dentistry, 2013
Successful endodontic therapy depends on adequate mechanical and chemical debridement of the canal which requires knowledge of the canal morphology. Conventional radiography has been used to evaluate the canal type; however, direct digital radiography ...

Assessment of Perception of Pain with E-Speed Film, CCD Sensor and Photostimulable Phosphor Plates for Intraoral Radiographs in Children using Three Pain Rating Scales

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dental Research
Background: Dental radiography is an integral part of intraoral evaluation. Children are often uncomfortable during the placement of film or sensor due to the impingement of the soft tissues. Thus, the perception of pain with three intraoral radiographic

Artificial intelligence in radiation therapy treatment planning: A discrete choice experiment

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, EarlyView.
We conducted a discrete choice experiment (DCE) to explore the preferences of radiation oncology professionals regarding which key features of AI systems might impact future adoption in clinical settings. Our findings suggest that the respondents preferred AI systems that offer the largest time saving, and that provide explanations of the AI reasoning (

Assessing chest radiographic quality and the influence of COVID‐19 pathology: the Australian experience

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, EarlyView.
This study evaluates the impact of COVID‐19 pathology on the quality of chest X‐rays (CXRs) using an established European Guideline tool for image quality assessment. Results indicate that CXRs with COVID‐19 features have lower technical quality scores compared to non‐COVID‐19 images, though their diagnostic value remains unaffected.

A Deeper Look Into the 2021 Tyrnavos Earthquake Sequence (TES) Reveals Coseismic Breaching of an Unrecognized Large‐Scale Fault Relay Zone in Continental Greece

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 41, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Large magnitude (Mw ∼ ≥6) earthquakes in extensional settings are often associated with simultaneous rupture of multiple normal faults as a result of static and/or dynamic stress transfer. Here, we report details of the coseismic breaching of a previously unrecognized large‐scale fault relay zone in central Greece, through three successive ...
