Digital versus conventional radiography for determination of primary incisor length

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Oral Sciences, 2015
Aim: This in vitro study evaluated the accuracy of primary incisor lengths determined by digital and conventional radiography compared to the actual tooth length. Methods: Twenty extracted primary maxillary incisors were mounted in acrylic blocks.

Hidden Knowledge: Mathematical Methods for the Extraction of the Fingerprint of Medieval Paper from Digital Images [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Medieval paper, a handmade product, is made with a mould which leaves an indelible imprint on the sheet of paper. This imprint includes chain lines, laid lines and watermarks which are often visible on the sheet. Extracting these features allows the identification of paper stock and gives information about chronology, localisation and movement of books

Eosinophils‐Induced Lumican Secretion by Synovial Fibroblasts Alleviates Cartilage Degradation via the TGF‐β Pathway Mediated by Anxa1 Binding

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Eosinophils play a crucial role in the progression of temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis (TMJOA). This study demonstrates that eosinophils, induced by OVA/IL‐5, promote Lumican secretion in the synovium, which binds to Annexin A1 in chondrocytes, inhibiting transforming growth factor β2 and Smad2/3 phosphorylation.

Evaluation of automated radiostereometric image registration in total knee arthroplasty utilizing a synthetic‐based and a CT‐based volumetric model

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Research, Volume 41, Issue 2, Page 436-446, February 2023., 2023
Abstract Radiostereometic analysis (RSA) is an accurate method for rigid body pose (position and orientation) in three‐dimensional space. Traditionally, RSA is based on insertion of periprosthetic tantalum markers and manual implant contour selection which limit clinically application.
