Digital TV receiver with a low IF
IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 1993A TV receiver design that uses the quadrature-receiver principle is presented. Due to a low IF (intermediate frequency) of 2.6 MHz, normal video analog-to-digital (A/D) converters are sufficient to digitize the complete modulated signal. A lot of RF processing is done within the digital domain.

A digital multistandard paging receiver
IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 1999Many different paging systems exist. Therefore it is very desirable to be able to implement the paging receiver in a way that all major paging standards can be supported. In this paper, a software radio receiver architecture which uses a signal demodulation technique based on a complex digital phase-locked loop is presented. This kind of software radio

Digital surveillance receivers
Electronics & Communication Engineering Journal, 1991The advent of high-speed digital signal processing has revolutionised radio receiver design. The paper describes the design of surveillance receivers based on fast analogue-to-digital conversion and the fast Fourier transform. Several system architectures are discussed and the performance issues which need to be resolved in the design of a receiver are

Adaptive digital communication receivers
IEEE Communications Magazine, 2000We present a tutorial review of adaptive signal processing applied to a digital communication receiver operating in a nonstationary environment. The topics covered include feedforward and recurrent neural networks and their applications to communication systems.

A Novel Structure Digital Receiver
2018This paper studies a novel structure digital receiver to demodulate signal with large frequency offset. When the carrier frequency offset is large, the matched filter will filter out part of the in-band signal, resulting in decrease of SNR and deterioration of BER. Different from traditional receiver structure, the novel receiver put a coarse frequency

Digital Television Receiver for ISDB
Proceedings of the IEEE, 2006This paper presents the digital high-definition television (HDTV) receiver for the ISDB system. It receives 8 phase shift keying (8-PSK) satellite broadcast and orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) terrestrial broadcast. It decodes the MPEG2 audio/video stream and converts the original HDTV picture to the various display formats.

On Linear Receivers for Digital Transmission Systems
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1974Two main classes of receivers for data modems using linear modulation systems over time-dispersive channels have been investigated by many authors for both theoretical and practical purposes, 1) structure-constrained linear receivers, such as zeroforcing and mean-square-error tapped-delay-line equalizers, and 2) nonlinear receivers, such as decision ...

Portable receivers for digital multimedia broadcasting
IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 2004A new national standard for digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) has been announced in Korea to provide high quality digital audio, video, and data broadcasting services to fixed, mobile, and portable receivers. We have developed the world's first DSP/FPGA implementation of the portable DMB receiver, complete with an RF receiver, a 6.4-inch LCD ...

Superconductor Digital-RF Receiver Systems
IEICE Transactions on Electronics, 2008Digital superconductor electronics has been experiencing rapid maturation with the emergence of smaller-scale, lower-cost communications applications which became the major technology drivers. These applications are primarily in the area of wireless communications, radar, and surveillance as well as in imaging and sensor systems.

Monobit digital receivers for ultrawideband communications
IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2005Ultrawideband systems employ short low-power pulses. Analog receiver designs can accommodate the required bandwidths, but they come at a cost of reduced flexibility. Digital approaches, on the other hand, provide flexibility in receiver signal processing but are limited by analog-to-digital converter (ADC) resolution and power consumption.
