Reference Encoding of Correlated Digital Sources

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1978
A reference code, with an associated bound on the code rate, for the encoding of correlated digital sources is introduced. The reference code is adaptive and simple to implement. Image coding results obtained using concatenated trellis and reference encoding are presented.

Configurable Digital Emulation of Radiation Sources

2006 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium Conference Record, 2006
A compact setup for generation of pulses emulating radiation sources events is presented. The core of the system is constituted by a digital configurable device (e.g. a field programmable gate array - FPGA) that guarantees adaptability to different simulated sources and operative conditions without hardware changes but only updating the firmware.

CCC Bridge With Digitally Controlled Current Sources

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2008
We have built a cryogenic current comparator (CCC) resistance bridge for the comparison of standard resistors in the range of 1 Omega-100 kOmega. The use of fully programmable current sources allows for smooth polarity reversals, regardless of the time constant of each side of the bridge.

Digital transmission technology l: source encoding

2002
Modern microelectronics offers applications in digital signal processing (DSP) which a few years ago would not have been thought possible. Mobile telephony is only one example, the global internet another. The general public is not so aware of the fascinating applications of medical technology and the radio and television technology of the future ...

Integration of Digital Primary Sources

2008
At the end of the twentieth century, the Library of Congress (LOC) began archival digitization of its holdings in order to share its rich collections with the public. The digitization process has made available, via the internet, over ten million items, many of which are primary source items (LOC, 2006, para. 5).
