Combined electronic speckle pattern interferometry and digital holography for analysis of deformations in magnetic shape memory actuators

Photonics Europe, 2022
Materials with magnetic shape memory (MSM) are promising candidates for application in next generation devices, such as actuators and switching valves. They exhibit elongation and contraction in a magnetic field and allow to achieve fast switching times ...

Digital Speckle Pattern Interferometry for Deformation Measurement

ACTA PHOTONICA SINICA, 2010
The technique of measuring displacement and deformation based on principle of digital speckle pattern interferometry was studied.Traditional recording plane in speckle pattern interferometry was substituted by charge coupled device camera. The method left out the wet chemical process of developing and fixing. The speckle patterns were obtained in two ...

Real-time comparative Digital Speckle Pattern Interferometry

Optics Communications, 1987
Abstract A comparative Digital Speckle Pattern Interferometric technique which allows compensation of fringes is presented in this paper. The technique employs two identical objects, the master and the test, that are identically loaded to detect the difference in their displacement profiles.

Artwork diagnostics with fiber-optic digital speckle pattern interferometry

Applied Optics, 1993
The possibility of employing a digital speckle pattern interferometer with optical fibers for nondestructive testing of artwork has been evaluated. A simple and accurate fiber-optic interferometer, able to perform real-time measurements in a hostile environment, has been realized with a minimum of optical components and a minimum of adjustments.

Digital Speckle Pattern Interferometry and Related Techniques

Measurement Science and Technology, 2001
From the Publisher: Digital Speckle Pattern Interferometry (DSPI) is the generic name for a class of important interferometric techniques such as TV holography, electronic holography or phase shifting pattern interferometry, all of which involve similar optical and electronic principles. These techniques are increasingly used in a wide range of fields

Denoising in digital speckle pattern interferometry using wave atoms

Optics Letters, 2007
We present an effective method for speckle noise removal in digital speckle pattern interferometry, which is based on a wave-atom thresholding technique. Wave atoms are a variant of 2D wavelet packets with a parabolic scaling relation and improve the sparse representation of fringe patterns when compared with traditional expansions.

Simultaneous multiple-viewpoint processing in digital speckle pattern interferometry

Applied Optics, 1994
Digital speckle pattern interferometry provides information on deformations equivalent to that given by image holography. Thus more than one viewpoint is necessary for the description of three-dimensional deformation vectors. We report the use of a diffraction-grating technique to process simultaneously the three or more required viewpoints of a ...

Electronic speckle pattern interferometry using digital image processing techniques

Applied Optics, 1980
The use of digital image processing techniques for electronic speckle pattern interferometry is discussed. A digital TV-image processing system with a large frame memory allows us to perform precise and flexible operations such as subtraction, summation, and level slicing. Digital image processing techniques make it easy compared with analog techniques

Elastic modulus measurement of quartz glass using digital speckle pattern interferometry based on tensile test

Measurement science and technology
Tensile tests are a standard method to evaluate the elastic modulus by measuring the deformation, usually by an extensometer, at a certain stress within the elastic limit for metal materials.
