Applications of digital speckle pattern shearing interferometry in characterization of fluids

Applied Optics, 2021
Digital speckle pattern shearing interferometry is a robust optical technique mostly used for measuring small deformations in solid objects. In this paper we focus on applications of this technique in characterization of liquid and gaseous samples. We demonstrate this by a few examples: measurement of the density (temperature) profiles inside a candle ...

Speckle noise reduction in digital speckle pattern interferometry using Riesz wavelets transform

2017 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Signal and Image Processing (ATSIP), 2017
In this work, we present an effective method for speckle noise reduction in digital speckle pattern interferometry (DSPI), which is based on a Riesz wavelet transform thresholding technique. Riesz wavelet transform is a steerable pyramid wavelet transform. Before Riesz-wavelet decomposition is applied to the noised image; the given coefficients undergo

Temporal Polarization Phase-shifting for Digital Speckle Pattern Interferometry

Instruments and Experimental Techniques, 2019
A temporal 4-step polarization phase-shifting technique for digital speckle pattern interferometry (DSPI) with one fixed and two rotatable polarizers is proposed. The fixed polarizer is used to filter out the reflected object beam in one polarization direction, and the two rotatable polarizers are used to perform the 4 times phase shifts.
