Design of FPGA-based digital sphygmomanometer
2015 IET International Conference on Biomedical Image and Signal Processing (ICBISP 2015), 2015Hypertension is one of the most common diseases nowadays, and it is important to monitor the blood pressure in a patient's daily life. The goal of this work is to design and develop an intelligent and easy-to-use digital sphygmomanometer for convenient personal use.

An arm phantom: a digital simulation system for testing sphygmomanometers
Journal of Medical Engineering & Technology, 1996An arm phantom for testing non-invasive blood pressure measuring instruments under reproducible and real conditions has been developed. Signal records, recorded on patients and validated by a reference method, are played into the instruments to be tested using a combination of an electro-pneumatic and an electro-acoustic converter.

A novel digital sphygmomanometer using Cortex-M3 microcontroller
2011 Second International Conference on Mechanic Automation and Control Engineering, 2011This issue introduced a new design of sphygmomanometer which do not need complicated signal conditioning circuit. Based on digital signal processing technology, it achieved a sphygmomanometer with the least spare parts needed. All signal processing procedures are accomplished by digital filters using ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller, which were both ...

How Do You Test a Digital Sphygmomanometer?
AJN, American Journal of Nursing, 1992I ncreasing health-consciousness has greatly stimulated the use of self-monitoring equipment, including digital (electronic) sphygmomanometers. Many individuals now routinely check their blood pressures at home with these units. Easy to use and relatively inexpensive, they are a boon particularly to people who cannot use traditional sphygmomanometers ...

Ensuring the Accuracy of Digital Sphygmomanometers for Home Use
Mayo Clinic Proceedings, 1994To describe the techniques for assessing the accuracy of digital sphygmomanometers. The necessary equipment and the recommended procedures for determining the accuracy of digital units by comparison with a mercury sphygmomanometer were reviewed.Evaluation of the accuracy of digital sphygmomanometers is a simple two-phase process: (1) comparison of the ...

Tropical Doctor, 2004
Digital, mercury and aneroid blood pressure measurements were carried out in 400 South American adults. There was slight under-reading of the aneroid instrument (hypertension prevalence 30%, compared with 32% for digital and mercury), but its robustness and simplicity makes it a suitable alternative to mercury machines in tropical field conditions.

Aneroid and digital sphygmomanometers are the most commonly available devices for measuring blood pressure. Aneroid sphygmomanometers are portable, and gauge with a needle to display pressure readings; however, they can be susceptible to inaccuracies if not maintained properly. The latter use electronic sensors to measure blood pressure and display the

Purpose: The main objective of this study was to determine the reliability and concurrent validity of using Modified Sphygmomanometer (sphyg) and body weighing scale to determine the magnitude of pressure and body weight change during digital spinal examination. Subjects: One hundred and twenty apparently healthy subjects were recruited.

[Basic study on blood pressure measurements with a digital sphygmomanometers].
Kango kenkyu. The Japanese journal of nursing research, 1997In the present study, digital sphygmomanometer (SMmeter)(Omuron Digital 709 Fuzzy and Digital 806F)for family use and 24 hour ambulatory SMmeter were checked in terms of reproducibility (CV%) of blood pressure(BP) measured and comparison of measured BP with Digital SMmeter with those measured with mercury SMmeter, the golden standard.
