Design of an IOT Based Online Monitoring Digital Stethoscope

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advances in Applied Sciences, 2018
Acoustic stethoscopes have low sound levels. Digital stethoscope overcomes this issue by amplifying body sounds electronically. As the sound signals are transmitted electronically, it can be wireless and can provide noise reduction. Acoustic stethoscope can be changed into a digital stethoscope by inserting an electric capacity microphone onto its head.

Diagnostic Accuracy of Cervical Auscultation for Aspiration Detection in Adult Dysphagia: Implications for FEES Prioritization

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 11, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective(s) To determine whether cervical auscultation (CA) provides a high‐specificity, rule‐in bedside signal to prioritize fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) in adults at risk of aspiration. Methods Single‐center, cross‐sectional diagnostic‐accuracy study in a tertiary hospital.

Digital Stethoscope Design

open access: yes, 2010
This paper details a new design for a digital stethoscope, which has the ability to filter out ambient noise and reduce playback speed. The design largely resembles a traditional acoustic stethoscope but with a digital embedded system to handle the ltering and reduced playback speed.
