Digital Subtraction Angiography [PDF]

open access: yesNeurosurgery, 1984
DSA is a promising method for improving the results of cerebrovascular angiography. Experience suggests that VI-DSA will have a more limited application than was originally expected. It is a low-risk, cost-efficient technique for serial and postoperative studies and for screening outpatients who may have occlusive extracranial lesions that have not ...

Digital subtraction angiography in children [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Roentgenology, 1983
Preliminary results with digital subtraction angiography in infants and children have shown this to be an excellent screening procedure and often diagnostic. The examination can be performed satisfactorily on outpatients. Sixty patients have undergone this examination for evaluation of suspected abnormalities of the aortic arch and its branches ...

A Soft‐Tip Hydraulically Steerable Catheter for Enhanced Flexibility and Safety in Vascular Interventions

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study introduces a hydraulically steerable catheter with a soft tip in vascular procedures. The steering soft tip achieves a minimal diameter of 2.6 mm and supports a 180° bend. Real‐time shape and position tracking, facilitated by segmentation and endpoint detection techniques, improves navigation.

Real‐Time Guidewire Tip Tracking Using a Siamese Network for Image‐Guided Endovascular Procedures

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Accurate guidewire navigation is critical for the success of endovascular procedures. This study presents a deep learning‐based framework that enables real‐time localization of the guidewire tip from intraoperative digital subtraction angiography images.

Prevalence of Venous Sinus Stenosis in Spontaneous Cerebrospinal Fluid Leak and the Role for Venous Sinus Stenting: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Given the association between spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid (sCSF) leak and idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), and the association of IIH and venous sinus stenosis (VSS), we sought to determine the prevalence of VSS in sCSF leak and the role of venous sinus stenting for sCSF leak.

Sheep femoral artery occlusion is well tolerated and does not result in ischemia

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Left femoral artery occlusion (yellow arrows) can be seen shortly after the lateral femoral circumflex artery origin, with distal arterial reconstitution. Sheep with femoral artery occlusion showed no change in pain scores nor mobility, thus making them an appropriate model for novel small diameter femoral artery graft studies. Abstract Objective Sheep

Disease Characteristics and Treatments Associated with Outcome in Primary Angiitis of the Central Nervous System—A Multicenter Cohort Study in 163 Patients

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective The aim was to determine patient, disease, and treatment characteristics associated with outcome in patients with primary angiitis of the central nervous system (PACNS) in a large multicenter German cohort. Methods In a retrospective, observational cohort study, we analyzed 163 adult patients who met the diagnostic criteria for PACNS.

Silent Danger: Coexistence of Late‐Onset External Iliac Artery Pseudoaneurysm and Deep Vein Thrombosis

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pseudoaneurysm (PA) is a well‐known vascular complication following percutaneous interventions, typically occurring in the early post‐procedural period. However, delayed‐onset PA associated with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is an uncommon presentation.
