Building detection in Digital surface model
2013 IEEE International Conference on Imaging Systems and Techniques (IST), 2013Containing elevation information, Digital surface model (DSM) data plays an increasingly important role in remote sensing image processing, especially in the field of building detection. However, due to the lack of spectral and textural information from DSM data, few attempts have been made to use DSM itself for building detection with satisfactory ...

Digital Topography Models for Martian Surfaces
IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2005We propose to use an unsupervised automated classification of topographic features on Mars in order to speed up geomorphic and geologic mapping of the planet. We construct a digital topography model (DTM), a multilayer grid that stores various kinds of topographical information for every pixel in a site.

Digital Modelling of Terrain Surface
2017The digital terrain modelling is a crucial issue in visualization of the forestry and urban areas. Among the digital evaluation, surface, and terrain models, the last ones play the significant role in the GIS applications. The challenges of a terrain modelling lead to the development of complex artificial and statistical methods that include a ...

Semi-Automatic Modeling of Buildings from Digital Surface Models
Cartography and Geographic Information Science, 2004Semi-automatic building detection and extraction is a topic of growing interest due to its potential application in such areas as cadastral information systems, cartographic revision, and GIS. One of the existing strategies for building extraction is to use a digital surface model (DSM) represented by a cloud of known points on a visible surface, and ...

Digital object models of water surfaces
Close-Range Photogrammetry Meets Machine Vision, 19903-D data of wave patterns generated by a ship or ship model in running water are used for the computation of the wave resistance. The results are suitable to optimize the ship design. A series of investigations was carried out to determine the wave heights photogrammetrically.

Digital terrain models derived from digital surface model uniform regions in urban areas
International Journal of Remote Sensing, 2016Digital terrain models DTMs are of significant interest for applications such as environment planning, flood risk assessment or building detection. A digital surface model DSM can be obtained efficiently in both time and cost from light detection and ranging lidar acquisition or from digital photogrammetry with aerial or satellite stereoscopic imagery.

Generation of digital textured surface models from hologram recordings
Applied Optics, 2007Digital sensors and fast digital image processing facilitate the use of pulsed holography for 3D surface measurement of moving objects. The real image of a hologram is reconstructed optically. A sequence of high-resolution projection images of the real image with a varying distance to the hologram is recorded digitally.

Digital Surface Models for Building Extraction
1997This paper describes an approach to building extraction using Digital Surface Models (DSM) as input data. The approach consists of building detection and reconstruction using parametric and prismatic building models. The main focus is on the extraction of roof structures, an extension of the previously published work, as first step towards the ...
