DIGITAL ELEVATION MODEL CORRECTION IN URBAN AREAS USING EXTREME GRADIENT BOOSTING, LAND COVER AND TERRAIN PARAMETERS [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
The accuracy of digital elevation models (DEMs) in urban areas is influenced by numerous factors including land cover and terrain irregularities. Moreover, building artefacts in global DEMs cause artificial blocking of surface flow pathways.

Simulating Environmental Impacts Based On The Example Of Roşia Montană

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Geography, 2015
One of the challenges of modern terrain modelling methods is to incorporate non-existing, planned features in the output. Remote sensing based solutions can only detect structures and shapes that are already present in the environment. In order to assess
