The generation of digital surface models (DSM) of urban areas from very high resolution (VHR) stereo satellite imagery requires advanced methods. In the classical approach of DSM generation from stereo satellite imagery, interest points are extracted and

Modelling surface climate over complex terrain for landscape ecology [PDF]
Climate exerts a fundamental control on ecosystem function, species diversity and distribution. Topographic variability may influence surface climate, through processes operating at a landscape- scale.

Future advances in the fields of meteorology and climate science will require scientists to increasingly strive towards the provision of new high‐resolution services. In this context, the development of new products and services along the weather chain may greatly benefit from the adoption of second‐and‐third‐party data (23PD) as a source of high ...

Scaling of Short‐Duration, Summer Rainfall Event Temporal Profiles With Warming Over Great Britain
Temperature scaling has been used to analyse the temporal profiles of short‐duration, summer rainfall events in Great Britain, for sub‐hourly observed and convection‐permitting climate model (CPM) data. Results show an increase with dewpoint temperature of event total rainfall depth, maximum intensity, concentration and front‐loading.

Near Real Time Processing of DSM from Airborne Digital Camera System for Disaster Monitoring
Knowledge of accurate digital surface models (DSMs) is a valuable information for security authorities and organizations during emergencies, disasters, or big events. In this context, the potential of the recently developed digital optical camera system (

Climatology and Trends of Sub‐Daily Precipitation Extremes in Croatia
Sub‐daily extreme precipitation indices reveal pronounced spatial variability, with the highest intensities and frequencies across the Adriatic region and the highlands. Seasonal and diurnal patterns highlight distinct regional behaviour, including summer maxima over the continental interior and nocturnal or early‐morning peaks along the Adriatic coast.

Overland flow: interfacing models with measurements
Index words: overland flow, catchment scale, system identification, ensemble simulations. This study presents new techniques to identify scale-dependent overland flow models and use these for ensemble-based predictions. The techniques are developed on the
