Enhanced services in digital video broadcasting networks
2009 IEEE 13th International Symposium on Consumer Electronics, 2009The established digital video broadcasting networks can do more than transmit the ordinary TV program to the viewer's living room. The future of digital television will be interactive. Especially for local communities or people who are not familiar with computers, local cable networks can be an interesting alternative to the global Internet. We present

Migration to capacity approaching codes for digital video broadcasting
IEE Proceedings - Communications, 2005DVB-S2 is the recently defined successor to the current DVB-S standard and DVB-DSNG standard (EN 301210); enabling new services via significantly higher data rates through the application of BCH concatenated with LDPC capacity-approaching codes. Owing to the vast amount of DVB-S receivers already deployed one of the key issues with standardising DVB-S2

Digital Audio/Video Broadcasting and Digital Implementation of Analog TV [PDF]
After nearly a century of deployment, analog radio and television are being replaced by digital broadcasting systems. In digital systems, the amplitude and frequency modulation characteristics inherent in analog systems are replaced by digital modulation techniques resulting in more robust communication systems, reduced power consumption, significantly

Reading Two Digital Video Clocks for Broadcast Basketball Videos
2018This paper presents an algorithm for reading two digital video clocks of broadcast basketball videos by using context-aware pixel periodicity method and deep learning technique. Reading two digital video clocks is a very challenge problem as a difficulty special case of reading video text. The first challenge task is the clock digit localization.

An Efficient Periodic Broadcast Technique for Digital Video Libraries
2006We investigate a novel multicast technique, called Skyscraper Broadcasting (SB), for digital-video-library applications. We discuss the data fragmentation technique, the broadcasting strategy, and the client design. We also show the correctness of our technique, and derive mathematical equations to analyze its storage requirement.
