Continuing Memory Span for Digits

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1963
An estimate of the continuing memory span for digits was obtained by having Ss reproduce a sequence of digits after a fixed delay. By this technique, the continuing memory span is only about three digits. The span decreases with rate of digit presentation and is relatively constant between 2 and 4 alternatives per digit.

Digital Multiplication using Continuous Valued Digits

2007 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2007
Binary multiplication is one of the fundamental arithmetic operations, and it is used in digital filters and signal processing applications. The continuous valued number system (CVNS) is a recently introduced number system that allows digital arithmetic, with arbitrary precision, to be implemented with analog circuitry.

‘Continuous’ functions on digital pictures

Pattern Recognition Letters, 1986
The epsilon-delta definition of continuity has a natural analog for functions that take lattice points into lattice points. It turns out that a function f is `continuous' if and only if it takes neighbors into neighbors, i.e., if Q is a neighbor of P, then \(f(Q)=f(P)\) or f(Q) is a neighbor of f(P) (diagonal neighbors not allowed).

Continuous Skeletons from Digitized Images

Journal of the ACM, 1969
An algorithm for the determination of the skeleton of a polygonal figure is presented. The propagation of the figure contour is simulated analytically. All skeleton branch points are obtained, in an order which depends on their distance from the contour, together with the equations of the skeleton branches connecting them.

Continuous-Time Digital Signal Processors

11th IEEE International Symposium on Asynchronous Circuits and Systems, 2005
In this paper, we discuss how asynchronous design techniques can be used in the implementation of continuous-time signal processors. Such processors are presented by signals developed by continuous-time analog-to-digital converters which involve no sampling, and thus do not exhibit aliasing; in addition, the resulting in-band quantization error is ...
