Continuants with bounded digits?III

open access: yesMonatshefte fr Mathematik, 1978
[For parts I, II see Mathematika 24 (1977), 166-172 (1978; Zbl 0371.10023); 25, 107-109 (1978; Zbl 0388.10021).] The author strengthens a recent theorem of \textit{G. Ramharter} and gives a simpler proof for some inequalities proved by the same author [Mathematika 30, 117-132 (1983; Zbl 0514.10026)].

Digitally continuous functions

open access: yesPattern Recognition Letters, 1994
Summary: In \textit{A. Rosenfeld} [(*) Pattern Recognition Lett. 4, 177-184 (1986; Zbl 0633.68122)], a natural analog of the usual \(\varepsilon - \delta\) definition of a continuous function is stated for digital pictures, and several properties of such digitally continuous functions are examined. The current paper expands on the work of (*).

Digitally assisted diagnostics of autism spectrum disorder

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychiatry, 2023
Digital technologies have the potential to support psychiatric diagnostics and, in particular, differential diagnostics of autism spectrum disorder in the near future, making clinical decisions more objective, reliable and evidence-based while reducing ...

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Continuous digital laminography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Abstract: Digital X-ray laminography is a technique for generating sectional images of an object, using an X-ray source and detector that move in opposite directions in planes above and below the object. However, motion of the X-ray source and detector during acquisition causes blurring in the projection images, which in turn leads to blurred ...
