Pool of Resistance Mechanisms to Glyphosate in Digitaria insularis

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2012
Digitaria insularis biotypes resistant to glyphosate have been detected in Brazil. Studies were carried out in controlled conditions to determine the role of absorption, translocation, metabolism, and gene mutation as mechanisms of glyphosate resistance in D. insularis.

In vitro anthelmintic and cytotoxicity activities the Digitaria insularis (Poaceae)

Veterinary Parasitology, 2017
This study aimed to evaluate the in vitro activity of D. insularis extracts and fractions against gastrointestinal nematodes of goats and its cytotoxicity on Vero cells. The egg hatch (EHT) and larval motility (LMT) tests were conducted to investigate the anthelmintic effects of the crude hydroethanolic (CH), ethyl acetate (EA), butanolic (BT) and ...

Digitaria insularis (sourgrass).

2021
Abstract D. insularis is an aggressive perennial grass causing major weed problems in its native area, especially in Brazil, Paraquay and Bolivia. It was classed as a principal weed in Venezuela by Holm et al. (1979). It is a major weed where introduced to pastures in Hawaii, USA (Kuswata Kartawinata and Mueller-Dombois, 1972); also ...

Response of Digitaria insularis seed germination to environmental factors

Crop & Pasture Science, 2017
Digitaria insularis (sourgrass) is a weed problem emerging in importance in agricultural fields from the north of Argentina and has recently been reported as resistant to glyphosate. Understanding the germination of local biotypes of D. insularis could help to reduce invasion and improve the long-term management strategies for this weed.

First report of anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum truncatum on Digitaria insularis in Brazil

Journal of Plant Pathology, 2023
Digitaria insularis (L.) Fedde (sourgrass) is a perennial monocotyledon weed easily found in soybean fields in Brazil. The emergence of herbicide-resistant sourgrass biotypes is common, making it difficult to control (Gonçalves Netto et al. 2021). In March 2019, yellow elongated necrotic spots were detected on sourgrass leaves, touching full mature ...

Control of Digitaria insularis (L.) Mez in Tropical Pastures

PANS, 1976
Abstract Digitaria insularis, a grass weed unpalatable to cattle, adversely affects pasture production in the Markham and Ramu Valleys of Papua New Guinea. Experiments revealed that on heavily infested pasture and fallow cultivated land it can be controlled successfully and further infestation restricted by establishing improved pastures.
