Fluorescent Polyethers Incorporating Perylene Diimide Derivatives: Investigating a Strategy of Limiting Aggregation

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
This work focuses on the use of perylene diimide (PDI) in the main polymeric chain of poly(arylene ether)s. It attempts to unlock the emission of PDI by randomly distributing it along the main chain to avoid quenching. This is a strategy that can be incorporated toward developing materials for the active layer of Polymeric Light Emitting Diodes (PLEDs).

Enhancing Selective Brain Cancer Therapy: Integrating Nanomedicine and Molecular Dynamics to Target the Cancerous Lipid Composition

open access: yesNano Select, EarlyView.
Improving selectivity within therapeutic design is critical to ensure targeted delivery to brain tumors. Targeting the cellular membrane composition distinctive of the blood–brain barrier and brain cancer cells is explored in this review. Nanomedicine can be utilized for precise tumor recognition, and detailed mechanistic interactions of therapeutics ...

Structural Basis of the Light‐Switchable Interaction between an Azobenzene Side Chain in a Biosynthetic Protein and α‐Cyclodextrin

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
X‐ray crystallographic analysis of super‐folder green fluorescent protein (sfGFP), a common reporter protein, displaying p‐(phenylazo)‐L‐phenylalanine (Pap) at amino acid position 39 on its surface in complex with α‐cyclodextrin (α‐CD) reveals an unexpected conformation of the photoswitchable side chain and illustrates its light‐dependent ...

A green solvent processable, self‐doped N‐annulated perylene butyl tetraester applied as a solar cell cathode interlayer

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
A new organic molecular cathode interlayer is presented built upon the perylene butyl tetraester scaffold. The new molecule incorporates N‐annulation and a functional amine group to control optical, electrochemical and physical properties and delivers excellent solar cell performance. Abstract We report a new amino‐bay‐substituted, N‐annulated perylene

Structural Modeling and Dynamics of the Full‐Length Homer1 Multimer

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Homer proteins are modular scaffold molecules that constitute an integral part of the protein network within the postsynaptic density. Full‐length Homer1 forms a large homotetramer via a long coiled coil region, and can interact with proline‐rich target sequences with its globular EVH1 domain.
