2-(4-Isopropylbenzylidene)propanoic acid

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2008
The two molecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C13H16O2, form dimers through O—H...O hydrogen bonding, resulting in R22(8) rings.

Marfan Syndrome Associated With Intellectual Disability and Behavioral Anomalies: Further Evidence for the Effect of Compound Heterozygous Variants in FBN1 on Phenotypic Severity

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Marfan syndrome (MFS) is a rare connective tissue disorder characterized by involvement of the cardiovascular, ocular, and musculoskeletal systems. Pathogenic variants in FBN1 cause most of the MFS cases; however, intellectual disability (ID) is rarely observed. A non‐consanguineous Pakistani family with four affected individuals was recruited.

A Precisely Bromo‐Functionalized [9]Cycloparaphenylene as a Platform for Late‐Stage Multisite π‐Extension Toward Chiral Nanohoops

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Precisely synthesized hexabrominated [9]cycloparaphenylene (CPP), accessed by a gold‐mediated method, enables efficient multisite post‐functionalization through cross‐coupling reactions. Late‐stage π‐extension on the CPP framework successfully affords armchair‐type chiral nanohoops exhibiting strong circularly polarized luminescence (|glum| = 0.100 ...

Dihedral Angles and Photoluminescence Quantum Yields: An NMR Analysis

open access: yesChemPhysChem
AbstractThe synthesis of two different series of donor–acceptor (D−A) molecules is reported, consisting of a series of four structurally related donors and two different acceptors. The subtle differences in the electron density of these D−A−D and D−A compounds are clearly reflected in the different chemical shifts of certain donor protons in the 1H NMR

Mechanochromic Organic Materials: Molecular Mechanisms and Multidimensional Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Mechanochromic (MC) organic materials change color in response to mechanical force. This review elucidates the molecular mechanisms (e.g., aggregation‐induced emission, AIE) and explores their multidimensional applications in sensors, anti‐counterfeiting, biomedical devices, and structural health monitoring, providing a roadmap for future smart ...

Lagomorph cranial biomechanics and the functional significance of the unique fenestrated rostrum of leporids

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The crania of leporid lagomorphs are uniquely fenestrated, including the posterior cranial bones and the lateral portion of the maxilla. The functional significance of the highly fenestrated rostrum has received considerably little attention, despite being absent in other mammalian herbivores with a long rostrum.
