Summary Acrylamide is a natural by‐product of the reaction that occurs during the baking or frying food at temperatures above 120°C in industry and in households. The main mechanism of acrylamide formation in food is the Maillard reaction, in which the free amino acid asparagine, which is found in many types of cereals and potatoes, reacts with ...

Summary Ochratoxin A (OTA) is a secondary metabolite primarily produced by moulds of the genera Aspergillus and Penicillium. It is most commonly found in foods of plant origin, such as cereals, wine, coffee, spices and various types of fruits and vegetables, green tea, pistachios, figs, raisins, grapes, wine and chestnuts, as well as beer, coffee ...

Summary Delta‐9‐tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9‐THC) is a naturally occurring psychoactive compound derived from the hemp plant Cannabis sativa. In 2015, EFSA established an acute reference dose (ARfD) of 1 μg/kg body weight (bw) for Δ9‐THC and assessed acute dietary exposure from milk and dairy products.

Summary Dioxins (PCDD/F) and dioxin‐like polychlorinated biphenyls (DL‐PCB) are harmful compounds that remain in the environment and accumulate in the food chain. Polychlorinated dibenzo‐p‐dioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) are mainly by‐products of industrial processes, but can also be the result of natural processes such as ...

Summary Lead is a ubiquitous environmental contaminant that occurs naturally and, to a greater extent, from anthropogenic activities. People are exposed to lead through food, water, air, soil and dust. Food is the major source of exposure for the adult population.

Dijet azimuthal decorrelations for Δϕ dijet < 2π/3 in perturbative QCD [PDF]
We point out an inconsistency in perturbative QCD predictions previously used for dijet azimuthal decorrelations for azimuthal angles of Δϕ dijet < 2π/3 between the two jets. We show how the inconsistency arises and how the calculations can be modified to provide more accurate results that exhibit a smaller scale ...

Results from D0: dijet angular distributions, dijet mass cross section and dijet azimuthal decorrelations [PDF]
Several tests of Quantum chromodynamics (QCD) in the inclusive dijet final state from the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider are presented. At hadron colliders, jet production has one of the highest cross section and is therefore an ideal place to test the predictions of perturbative Quantum chromodynamics (pQCD).

Child at neurorisk is the child who has been exposed to prenatal, perinatal or postnatal risk factors. Place and damage to the brain depends on the gestational age of the newborn, and explains the existence of transitional forms neuroanatomical organization and blood flow changes of the central nervous system during maturation. Child at neurorisk after
