The mechanism of intrusion of lamprophyre dikes indicated by “Offsetting” of dikes
Tectonophysics, 1970Abstract The length to width ratio of magmatic bodies is controlled by their viscosity, rate of intrusion, dimensions and the stress conditions in the host rocks. For bodies less than 10 cm wide the length to width ratio of an ordinary dry magmatic dike cannot exceed 200. If the magma is saturated or supersaturated with water however, boiling off the

Observations on Pseudo-Dikes and Foliated Dikes
The Journal of Geology, 1945Criteria for distinguishing between dikes and pseudo-dikes (or xenoliths), particularly when both are foliated, are discussed in this paper. Consideration is given to time and direction of application of stresses which produced the foliation. Examples are mainly from southern California.

Overtopping resistant dike, Sandy dike
2005An important element in the ComCoast concept is the overtopable sea defence (often a dike). In this concept the landward (inner) slope of the dike is adjusted in such a way that it can withstand higher overtopping rates. Two new concepts for covering the inner slope, sand cover and perforated mats, are discrebed in this report.
