Biologically‐Inspired Melt Electrowriting for the Generation of Highly Biomimetic Functional Myocardium

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, melt electrowriting is used to fabricate a 3D printed scaffold design that generates engineered cardiac tissues with in‐plane contraction, mimicking natural myocardium. It is shown that these tissues display advanced maturation and functionality.

Dilation of stochastic matrices by coarse graining [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
We consider two different ways of representing stochastic matrices by bi-stochastic ones acting on a larger probability space, referred to as ``dilation by uniform coarse graining" and ``environmental dilation". The latter is motivated by analogy to the dilation of operations in quantum theory. Both types of dilation can be viewed as special cases of a

A Homeostatic Photonic Device Integrating Vapor‐Regulated Thermo‐Optical Feedback Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An inorganic homeostatic photonic device is designed to autonomously regulate light, temperature, and vapor sorption through integrated positive and negative feedback mechanisms at multiple wavelengths. The device uses a graded mesoporous 1D photonic crystal coupled with a photothermal layer.

On the inverse Poletsky inequality with cotangent dilatation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
The article is devoted to establishing the distortion of the modulus of families of paths in wide classes of mappings that admit branch points. In particular, for mappings that are differentiable almost everywhere and have $N$- and $N^{\,- 1}$-Luzin properties and are absolutely continuous on almost all paths, we obtained the inverse Poletsky ...

Flow‐Induced Vascular Remodeling on‐Chip: Implications for Anti‐VEGF Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Flow‐induced vascular remodeling plays a critical role in network stabilization and function. Using a vasculature‐on‐chip system, this study reveals how physiological VEGF levels and flow affect vascular remodeling and provides insights into tumor vessel normalization.

Some Structural Properties of Homomorphism Dilation Systems for Linear Maps [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Inspired by some recent development on the theory about projection valued dilations for operator valued measures or more generally bounded homomorphism dilations for bounded linear maps on Banach algebras, we explore a pure algebraic version of the dilation theory for linear systems acting on unital algebras and vector spaces.
