Designing Acellular Injectable Biomaterial Therapeutics for Treating Myocardial Infarction and Peripheral Artery Disease. [PDF]
As the number of global deaths attributed to cardiovascular disease continues to rise, viable treatments for cardiovascular events such as myocardial infarction (MI) or conditions like peripheral artery disease (PAD) are critical.

Endoscopic vs surgical treatment of biliary stenosis after liver transplantation. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: The biliary anastomosis is often considered as the Achilles’ heel of liver transplantation (LT). Although the incidence has decreased over the last decade, patients undergoing liver transplantation are still affected by biliary complications.

ABSTRACT Self‐expanding metallic stents (SEMSs) are an established palliative option for malignant colonic obstruction, including in cases with proximal lesions. However, SEMS placement across the ileocecal valve (ICV) can be technically challenging because of the anatomical curvature and luminal stenosis. Herein, we report a successful case of colonic

ABSTRACT Background Sedation for conventional endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) has been reported to be safe even for elderly patients. However, the safety of sedation for balloon enteroscopy‐assisted ERCP (BE‐ERCP) has not been well‐studied in the elderly.

Efficacy and tolerability of airway stents [PDF]
The function of airway stents is to keep the tubular structures open and stable. Their insertion is essentially indicated for intrinsic obstruction or extrinsic compression of the airway, fistulae or tracheobronchomalacia.

ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of spontaneously dislodging biliary stent (SDBS) placement in preventing acute cholangitis after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) in patients with asymptomatic bile duct stones. Methods This retrospective, single‐center study included 63 patients (mean age, 73 ± 11 years; 43 men) who

Predictors of Delayed Recovery in Ambulatory Advanced Endoscopic Procedures
ABSTRACT Background There is a scarcity of data evaluating patient‐related outcomes of advanced or complex endoscopy (ACE) through the post‐anesthesia recovery course. Yet, gastrointestinal distress following ACE can occur commonly, and this may impact recovery length of stay and the approach to post‐anesthesia care.

Abstract Objectives Although previous studies have investigated colonic stenting for obstruction due to extracolonic malignancies (ECMs), long‐term data—especially concerning quality of life and chemotherapy resumption—remain insufficient. Methods Clinical data of 25 patients with ECM‐induced colorectal obstruction were retrospectively analyzed.

Endoscopic ultrasound‐guided gallbladder drainage using a double‐pigtail plastic stent (DPPS) harbors the risk of bile leakage and pneumoperitoneum through the anastomosis site. When the inner sheath of the DPPS system is retracted halfway back into the stent, multiple side holes emerge on the stent end, which accelerates the active gallbladder lavage.
