Gastric Peroral Endoscopic Tunneled Stricturotomy for Post‐Sleeve Gastrectomy Stenosis: Case Series and Literature Review

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Gastric peroral endoscopic tunneled stricturotomy (G‐POETS) has emerged as a novel procedure to treat post‐sleeve gastrectomy stenosis. We present a case series highlighting the use of G‐POETS to treat sleeve stenosis. Clinical success was assessed using the Dakkak‐Bennett Dysphagia Score and the Gastroparesis Cardinal Symptom Index.

Diabetes Mellitus is a Risk Factor for Hepatic Encephalopathy Following Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 63, Issue 7, Page 967-978, April 2026.
Diabetes mellitus independently increases the risk of hepatic encephalopathy following TIPS placement in patients with cirrhosis. These findings emphasize the need for careful risk assessment in patients with cirrhosis and portal hypertension complications undergoing TIPS.

Long‐Term Outcomes of Extrahepatic Portal Vein Obstruction—A Nationwide Registry‐Based Follow‐Up Study From 1987 to 2023

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Extrahepatic portal vein obstruction (EHPVO) is among the main causes of childhood portal hypertension. We analysed nationwide long‐term outcomes of EHPVO in relation to various management options. Methods In total, 62 consecutive patients with EHPVO diagnosed between 1987 and 2023 were followed up through hospital records ...

NFS1 Regulates IDH2 to Attenuate Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms via Interacting With SP2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 14, 9 March 2026.
The loss of NFS1 leads to its reduced binding with the transcription factor SP2, resulting in decreased expression of the downstream gene Idh2. This causes a shift in energy supply toward glycolysis in VSMCs, ultimately contributing to the occurrence and progression of AAA.

Outcomes of Pancreas‐Sparing Total Duodenectomy for Severe Duodenal Polyposis in Patients With Familial Adenomatous Polyposis

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, Volume 10, Issue 2, Page 534-542, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim Spigelman stage IV duodenal polyposis (SP‐stage IV DP) is associated with high duodenal cancer risk in patients with familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP). This study evaluated the surgical and oncological outcomes of pancreas‐sparing total duodenectomy (PSTD) as a surgical prophylaxis for severe duodenal polyposis in FAP.
