Dilatometry of Ni3Al powder disordered by ball-milling

Intermetallics, 1995
Abstract The microstructure and reordering behaviour of Ni3AI-base alloy has been studied following completion of a broader research on ordering kinetics of some intermetallic compounds. A disordered structure has been obtained in powder samples with high energy ball-milling.

Determination of quartz in ceramics by dilatometry

Thermochimica Acta, 1988
Abstract Dilatometric curves can be used for a semi-quantitative determination of quartz in ceramic bodies, especially by an evaluation of the volume increase during the transition of low quartz to high quartz. The present study concerns parameters which may affect calibration curves.

Dilatometry under high pressure

High Pressure Research, 2000
Abstract In order to measure anisotropic compressibilities and thermal expansion of cubic, tetragonal or orthorhombic single crystals under pressure we have miniaturized a high resolution capacitive dilatometer and integrated this device in a high pressure cell within a cryostat which allows a temperature variation from 10 K to 320 K.

Dilatometry of Na-, K-, Ca- and NH4-clinoptilolite

Thermochimica Acta, 1999
Abstract The dilatometric behaviour of Na-, K-, NH4- and Ca-clinoptilolite has been investigated. Na-, K- and NH4-clinoptilolite sensibly shrink (from 0.4 to 2.0%) up to about 350°C, while for higher temperatures only very small shrinkages (0.2%) have been detected.

Electro-dilatometry of simple liquids

Chemical Physics Letters, 1985
Abstract The effect of a dc electric field ((1–4)×106 V/m) on the changes inthe volume of liquids at 298 K has been investigated for nine pure liquids and one binary liquid mixture. The change in the volume was found to be dependent on E2. Both negative as well as positive volume changes were found.

Ehrenfest equations for calorimetry and dilatometry

Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2015
Ehrenfest classification of phase transitions discerns between two categories: first-order transitions obeying Clapeyron equation and second-order transitions that should obey Ehrenfest equations. Considering the equilibrium phase diagram of binary systems with lentiform two-phase field and with bell-shaped miscibility gap, the corresponding Ehrenfest ...

Differential Dilatometry A Powerful Tool

THERMAL EXPANSION OF SOLIDS — 1973: International Symposium, 1974
Differential dilatometry is a valuable technique for measuring both differential and absolute expansion of materials. The particular advantages of this technique are discussed and a calibration scheme is presented. Its usefulness and versatility are illustrated by establishment of new reference materials and by citing typical applications of the method.

Apparatus and method for volumetric dilatometry [PDF]

open access: possible, 2016
Disclosed is a novel apparatus and method for volumetric dilatometry. A volumetric dilatometer includes an optical displacement sensor and a means for using a gap measurement obtained from the displacement sensor application in an application which requires the measurement of absolute distance and/or displacement.

Industrielle Anwendungen Moderner Dilatometrie

1979
In modernen
