Calculation of geometric dilution of precision
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1992A very simple closed-form formula for the calculation of the geometric dilution of precision (GDOP) in Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation and in Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS) navigation is presented, which requires less than 40 multiplications. >

Adopting Dilution of Precision for Indoor Localization
Wireless Personal Communications, 2019Due to the rising number of aged people in the last decades, many apprehensions about their quality of life and their personal security in their own homes came to surface especially when these persons prefer to live alone. Compared to other age groups, old persons are more susceptive to domestic incidents, such as sudden illnesses and falls. Therefore,

Dilution of Precision Analysis for GNSS Collaborative Positioning
IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2016Performance analysis of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) collaborative positioning accuracy is a challenging task since there are too many impact factors. To simplify the analysis, the collaborative dilution of precision (CDOP) model is proposed to specify the multiplicative effect of various factors on the accuracy of collaborative ...

Dilution Of Precision Revisited
Navigation, 2008Measured vertical to horizontal positional error ratios from FAA data show behavior inconsistent with the random error propagation model of DOP. The current almanac gives a mean VDOP/HDOP ratio of 1.474, which does not match the recent measured error ratio.

Geometric Dilution of Precision
Navigation, 1978A graph is developed which gives geometric dilution for fixes obtained hyperbolically using information received from three stations. Only bearings from the user to the stations are needed. The approach can be characterized as oriented to the user rather than to system development and is particularly valuable in assessing station choices in redundant ...

Dilution of Precision in Vision Navigation Systems
AIAA Guidance, Navigation, and Control Conference, 2012Dilution of Precision (DOP) is a common measure of the quality of measurement geometry in the Global Positioning System. Measurement references that are clustered together in space provide nearly identical measurements and consequently little additional information relative to each other. To have a good measurement geometry, the measurements need to be

Calculation of precision in isotope dilution experiments
The International Journal of Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 1969Abstract Equations are derived for the composite error of isotope dilution measurements in three types of experiment viz. simple dilution, saturation analysis (sub-stoichiometric dilution) and adsorbed ion measurement; the latter two yielding equations of the same form.

Geometric Formulas for Dilution of Precision Calculations
Navigation, 1990This paper derives geometric formulations for computing dilutions of precision (DOPs), such as GDOP, PDOP, and HDOP. These formulations are in terms of volumes, areas, and lengths determined by the unit vectors pointing from the receiver to the satellites. They often result in very efficient computer algorithms for computing the DOP quantities.

On the precision of salt dilution gauging
Journal of Hydrology, 1976Abstract The results of an extensive series of dilution experiments in four steep, gravel streams (409 individual slug injections representing 39 separate flow events) are presented. Precision, expressed as per cent probable error about the mean, of four pertinent parameters — tracer integral, mean velocity, discharge and flow area — is investigated.
