Joint State and Sparse Input Estimation in Linear Dynamical Systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Sparsity constraints on the control inputs of a linear dynamical system naturally arise in several practical applications such as networked control, computer vision, seismic signal processing, and cyber-physical systems. In this work, we consider the problem of jointly estimating the states and sparse inputs of such systems from low-dimensional ...

Current spinon-holon description of the one-dimensional charge-transfer insulator SrCuO2: Angle-resolved photoemission measurements [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. B 73, 201101(R) (2006), 2006
We have investigated the low-energy electronic structure of the strongly correlated one-dimensional copper oxide chain compound SrCuO2 by angle resolved photoemission as a function of excitation energy. In addition to the prominent spinon-holon continuum we observe a peaklike and dispersive feature at the zone boundary.

The cosα method for X-ray residual stress measurement using two-dimensional detector

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Reviews, 2019
detector Abstract X-ray stress measurement is widely used as one of the most powerful nondestructive tools to measure residual stresses in polycrystalline solids. In most cases, the sin 2  method has been used to determine the stress.

Pharmacological effects of osimertinib on a chicken chorioallantoic membrane xenograft model with the EGFR exon‐19‐deleted advanced NSCLC mutation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Osimertinib reduces angiogenesis and PDL1 expression in in ovo tumors, transforming them into ‘cold tumors’ with lower immune activity. Anatomopathological and transcriptomic analyses highlight its therapeutic impact on tumor biology. This study underscores osimertinib's potential to reshape the tumor microenvironment and provides insights into its ...

Enhanced discovery of bacterial laccase‐like multicopper oxidase through computer simulation and metagenomic analysis of industrial wastewater

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We obtained potential bacterial laccase‐like multicopper oxidase (LMCO) sequences through metagenomic sequencing. All sequences exhibited significant differences from known LMCOs in databases. To select the most promising candidates, we performed structure prediction and molecular docking using alphafold2, metal3d and rosetta.

Matrigel inhibits elongation and drives endoderm differentiation in aggregates of mouse embryonic stem cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Stem cell‐based embryo models (SCBEMs) are valuable to study early developmental milestones. Matrigel, a basement membrane matrix, is a critical substrate used in various SCBEM protocols, but its role in driving stem cell lineage commitment is not clearly defined.

Prostate biopsies guided by three-dimensional real-time (4-D) transrectal ultrasonography on a phantom: comparative study versus two-dimensional transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsies [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Urology 52, 4 (2007) 1097-104, 2007
OBJECTIVE: This study evaluated the accuracy in localisation and distribution of real-time three-dimensional (4-D) ultrasound-guided biopsies on a prostate phantom. METHODS: A prostate phantom was created. A three-dimensional real-time ultrasound system with a 5.9MHz probe was used, making it possible to see several reconstructed orthogonal viewing ...

The Long Term Effects of a 12‐Session Community Exercise Program on Health Measures in Cancer Patients

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To assess the long‐term effects of a community cancer exercise program on quality of life, fatigue, weight, waist circumference, physical activity levels, lower extremity strength, body mass index (BMI), heart rate, and blood pressure, across non‐metastatic and metastatic patients.

Class Density and Dataset Quality in High-Dimensional, Unstructured Data [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
We provide a definition for class density that can be used to measure the aggregate similarity of the samples within each of the classes in a high-dimensional, unstructured dataset. We then put forth several candidate methods for calculating class density and analyze the correlation between the values each method produces with the corresponding ...

Three-dimensional shape measurement using a structured light system with dual projectors.

open access: yesApplied Optics, 2018
This paper introduces a structured light system with two projectors and one camera for three-dimensional (3D) shape measurement to alleviate problems created by a single projector such as the shadow problem.
