Towards Synthetic Augmentation of Training Datasets Generated by Mobility-on-Demand Service Using Deep Variational Autoencoders

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The machine learning-based approaches for analysing the mobility needs of users are currently the most prevalent approach in the mobility-on-demand (MoD) analysis.

Dimensional reduction in manifold-like causal sets

open access: yes, 2017
We investigate the behavior of small subsets of causal sets that approximate Minkowski space in three, four, and five dimensions, and show that their effective dimension decreases smoothly at small distances.

Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

High temperature dimensional reduction in Snyder space

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2015
In this paper, we formulate the statistical mechanics in Snyder space that supports the existence of a minimal length scale. We obtain the corresponding invariant Liouville volume which properly determines the number of microstates in the semiclassical ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Dimensional reduction in quantum optics

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
One-dimensional quantum optical models usually rest on the intuition of large-scale separation or frozen dynamics associated with the different spatial dimensions, for example when studying quasi one-dimensional atomic dynamics, potentially resulting in ...

Regularization by Dimensional Reduction: Consistency, Quantum Action Principle, and Supersymmetry

open access: yes, 2005
It is proven by explicit construction that regularization by dimensional reduction can be formulated in a mathematically consistent way. In this formulation the quantum action principle is shown to hold.
