Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Thermal Stability of Dynamical Phase Transitions in Higher Dimensional Stabilizer Codes
For all of the interest in dynamical phase transitions (DPT), it is still not clear the meaning or prevalence of these features in higher dimensional models. In this paper, we consider DPTs for stabilizer code models and quantum quenches between these models in higher dimensions, particularly $d=2,3$.

Identified through the use of statistical design of experiments and metallographic investigation, this study exposes the stochastic origins of intergranular cracks in blown powder laser beam directed energy deposition additive manufacturing of pure molybdenum. It further demonstrates a successful crack mitigation approach with direct correlation to the

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Two-dimensional nanoplates of Bi2Te3 and Bi2Se3 with reduced thermal stability
Free-standing thin nanoplates of Bi2Te3 and Bi2Se3 were synthesized by solvothermal method. It was demonstrated that the thickness of the nanoplates can be controlled by introducing a controlled amount of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) in the synthesis ...
