A remark about dimension reduction for supremal functionals: the case with convex domains [PDF]
An application of dimensional reduction results for gradient constrained problems is provided for 3D-2D dimension reduction for supremal functionals, in the case when the domain is convex.

Motivated by one-dimensional color-electric flux-tube formation in four-dimensional (4D) QCD, we investigate a possibility of effective dimensional reduction in the 4D Yang-Mills (YM) theory. We propose a new gauge fixing of “dimensional reduction (DR) gauge” defined so as to minimize RDR≡∫d4sTr[Ax2(s)+Ay2(s)], which has a residual gauge symmetry for ...

Non‐thermal plasma treatment of melanoma cells induced epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in a dose‐dependent fashion. This report highlights the critical need to further investigate potential adverse effects of non‐thermal plasma for cancer therapy and to optimize treatment parameters for clinical translation. Despite the promising results of non‐

Criteria for good reduction of proper polycurves [PDF]
We give good reduction criteria for hyperbolic polycurves, i.e., successive extensions of families of curves, under mild assumption. These criteria are higher dimensional version of the good reduction criterion for hyperbolic curves given by Oda and Tamagawa.

Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

Dimensional reduction in quantum optics
One-dimensional quantum optical models usually rest on the intuition of large-scale separation or frozen dynamics associated with the different spatial dimensions, for example when studying quasi one-dimensional atomic dynamics, potentially resulting in the violation of (3+1)-dimensional Maxwell's theory. Here, we provide a rigorous foundation for this

We obtained potential bacterial laccase‐like multicopper oxidase (LMCO) sequences through metagenomic sequencing. All sequences exhibited significant differences from known LMCOs in databases. To select the most promising candidates, we performed structure prediction and molecular docking using alphafold2, metal3d and rosetta.
