Based on single factor and orthogonal experiments, optimal fermentation conditions for longan wine were Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain of Lalvin KD, juice content of 70% and alcohol content of 10°. Sixteen amino acids were detected. Proline, alanine, glutamic acid and aspartic acid contents were relatively high.

Antioxidant activity of microwave-assisted extract of longan (Dimocarpus Longan Lour.) peel
Food Chemistry, 2008Abstract The longan (Dimocarpus Longan Lour.) peel was extracted with 95% ethanol employing microwave-assisted extraction and Soxhlet extraction method, the total phenolic content of microwave-assisted extract of Langan peel (MEL) and Soxhlet extract of Langan peel (SEL) reached 96.78 mg/g and 90.35 mg/g dry weight, respectively, expressed as ...

AbstractThe antifatigue effects of the hot‐water extract of longan (Dimocarpus longan Lour.) seeds were studied in mice. Longan seed polysaccharides were administered at doses of 50, 100, 200 and 400 mg/kg and antifatigue activity was evaluated using a swimming test, along with the determination of serum urea nitrogen, hepatic glycogen and blood lactic

High pressure extraction of corilagin from longan (Dimocarpus longan Lour.) fruit pericarp
Separation and Purification Technology, 2009Abstract High pressure as a new extraction technique was carried out to extract corilagin from longan fruit pericarp. The effects of different solvents, solvent concentration and solid to liquid ratio on corilagin contents were individually determined.

Longan polyphenoloxidase (PPO) was extracted and partially purified using ammonium sulfate precipitation and dialysis. The PPO characterizations were compared using endogenous substrate (-)-epicatechin and exogenous substrate catechol. The optimal pH and optimal temperature for the PPO activity were different when reacting with both substrates.

Abstract The breeding barriers between commercial litchi (Litchi chinensis Sonn.) and longan (Dimocarpus longan Lour.) cultivars were investigated by conducting reciprocal pollinations. This work has shown that it is possible to generate intergeneric hybrids using litchi as the female parent.
