Molecular cloning and analysis of a novel teratocyte-specific carboxylesterase from the parasitic wasp, Dinocampus coccinellae.

Insect Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 2005
Teratocytes derived from the embryonic membrane (serosa) of parasitoids are released into the host hemocoel when the parasitoid eggs hatch, where they perform several functions during the post-embryonic stage. A full-length cDNA encoding a putative carboxylesterase was isolated from the teratocytes of Dinocampus coccinellae and was designated as ...

New Records of the Parasitic wasp Dinocampus coccinellae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) and its Hosts in South Africa [PDF]

open access: yesAfrican Entomology, 2014
Dinocampus coccinellae Schrank (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) is a solitary endoparasitoid of ladybird beetle species (Coccinellidae) from the subfamily Coccinellinae (Obrycki 1989; Majerus 1997). The wasp has a cosmopolitan distribution, encompassing all continents except for Antarctica, and mostly occupying the Holarctic temperate areas with the exception

Interactions between the parasitoid wasp Dinocampus coccinellae and two species of coccinellid from Japan and Britain

BioControl, 2008
The establishment, spread and increase of the invasive coccinellid Harmonia axyridis Pallas in North America and Britain have coincided with declines in native ladybirds. In Britain, this pattern was predicted soon after H. axyridis was first recorded. However, predictions of the impact that H.

Response of the Ladybird Parasitoid Dinocampus coccinellae to Toxic Alkaloids from the Seven-spot Ladybird, Coccinella septempunctata

Journal of Chemical Ecology, 2004
Electrophysiological and behavioral responses of the ladybird parasitoid Dinocampus coccinellae to volatiles from the seven-spot ladybird, Coccinella septempunctata, were investigated to identify semiochemicals involved in host location. Coupled gas chromatography-electroantennography (GC-EAG) with D.
