Study of Morphology of Sorption Substances

open access: yesРазработка и регистрация лекарственных средств, 2019
Introduction. Substances with sorption properties can be used to create transport drug systems, in which the main mechanism of binding, transport and release of the drug molecule is sorption.

Hydrothermal synthesis and characterization of dioctahedral smectites: A montmorillonites series [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
International audienceThe aim of this study is to synthesize and finely characterize montmorillonite samples, dioctahedral smectites without tetrahedral charges (structural formulae Nax(Al(2 − x)Mgx)Si4O10(OH)2), to allow their use as reference samples ...

Dioctahedral mixed K-Na-micas and paragonite in diagenetic to low-temperature metamorphic terrains: bulk rock chemical, thermodynamic and textural constraints [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Metamorphic mineral assemblages in low-temperature metaclastic rocks often contain paragonite and/or its precursor metastable phase (mixed K-Na-white mica).

Hydrothermal behaviors of dioctahedral smectites.

open access: yesJournal of the Mineralogical Society of Japan, 1990
Three montmorillonites from Tsukinuno, Odo, Mikawa and one beidellite from Sano saturated with various cations (Li, Na, Rb, Cs, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Ni, Co) were treated under hydrothermal conditions. Smectites changed to mica, chlorite and some non-sheet silicates through interstratified mineral phases.

Selectivity of Na-Montmorillonite versus Concentration of Two Competitive Bivalent Cations (Cu2+, Pb2+): Quantitative XRD Investigation

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2009
The goal of this paper is to examine, by quantitative XRD analysis, the effect of heavy metal cation concentrations (Pb2+, Cu2+) on the selectivity phenomenon in the case of dioctahedral smectite (i.e., Na-montmorillonite).

Mineralogy and chemistry of altered Icelandic basalts: Application to clay mineral detection and understanding aqueous environments on Mars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We used a suite of techniques, including those emulating compositional data sets obtained from Mars orbit and obtainable at the Mars surface, to examine aqueous alteration of basaltic rocks from Iceland as a mineralogic and geochemical analog for ...

Cation ordering over short range and long range scales in the MgAl2O4-CuAl2O4 series [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A multi-analytical approach using electron microprobe analysis, X‑ray structural refinement, and optical absorption spectroscopy was applied to characterize short-range and long-range structures of synthetic spinel single crystals along the MgAl2O4 ...

Occurrence and mineralogy of the margarite- and muscovite-bearing pseudomorphs after topaz in the Juurakko pegmatite, Orivesi, southern Finland [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Geological Society of Finland, 1988
Margarite- and muscovite-bearing pseudomorphs after topaz are described from the Juurakko pegmatite dyke, Orivesi, southern Finland. A supercritical vapour phase rich in calcium and alkalies caused alteration of topaz and some other silicates during ...

Intercalation and Exfoliation Mechanism of Kaolinite During the Emulsion Polymerization

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2017
Layered clays have been used as reinforcement in polymer nanocomposites by having a structure of silicate layers, cation exchange capacity, organically modified and have high aspect ratios.
