Diode Clamped Multilevel Inverter Based on Arduino Microcontroller

2020 International Conference on Computer, Control, Electrical, and Electronics Engineering (ICCCEEE), 2021
This paper presents a single-phase Neutral point diode clamped (NPC) inverter module. Consists of single-cell connected to three equal DC power supply. This inverter also contains several semiconductor switches in which the process of direct voltage is reversed to the alternative wave in the output.

A Sparse Multilevel Matrix Converter Based on Diode-Clamped Topology

2007 IEEE Industry Applications Annual Meeting, 2007
This paper presents a novel sparse matrix converter configuration that needs no bulky energy storage capacitors or inductors, and employs only unidirectional power semiconductor switches. The source side bridge is switched at the line frequency and therefore, this allows the use of the low speed high power rating switches.

Power factor correction based on diode clamped rectifier

International Journal of Electronics, 2001
Multilevel converters are recent alternative ways of implementing high power medium voltage applications compared with two-level converters. This paper presents a three-level pulse-width modulation scheme based on the diode clamped rectifier for power factor correction. Eight power switches are employed in the adopted switching mode rectifier.

Study on the simulation of diode-clamping inverter

2011 International Conference on Electrical and Control Engineering, 2011
In this paper, the structure of the multilevel invertor of multilevel invertor's circuit is analyzed based on ladder-wave PWM principle and waveform theory, and a method of switching angle control is proposed. The specified lower frequency harmonics is eliminated and the fundamental voltage is adjusted by controlling the switching time of power ...

A modified diode clamped inverter with reduced number of switches

2018 9th Annual Power Electronics, Drives Systems and Technologies Conference (PEDSTC), 2018
This paper presents a novel multilevel inverter with reduced number of switches based on a modification to conventional diode clamped inverter. Diode clamped inverter is a well-known and wide-spread multilevel inverter among other inverters. Therefore, it has been modified in this paper to use fewer number of components to generate the same output ...

A high‐efficiency diode‐clamped linear amplifier

Electronics and Communications in Japan, 2008
AbstractThis paper proposes a new power converter without any switching operation and which works as a linear amplifier. The main circuit of the proposed converter consists of series‐connected MOSFETs, series‐multi DC power supplies, and clamping diodes.

Snubber circuit for diode-clamped four-levelinverter and converter

IEE Proceedings - Electric Power Applications, 2001
The snubber circuit makes use of Undeland and McMurray snubbers in the basic snubber unit, and can be regarded as a generalised combined Undeland and McMurray snubber. The proposed snubber features fewer components, improved efficiency due to low snubber loss, overvoltage clamping across main switching devices, and no imbalance problem of the blocking ...

Voltage-balancing strategies for diode-clamped multilevel converters

2004 IEEE 35th Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37551), 2004
This paper explores space-vector modulation strategies for diode-clamped multilevel converters. The analysis is focused on the voltage-balancing issue, since this is a very difficult task in high-order multilevel converters. Two strategies for selecting redundant vectors in the space-vector diagram are explained; both of them are based on minimizing a ...

Diode-Clamped Three-Level Dual Buck Inverter

2009 International Conference on Energy and Environment Technology, 2009
Dual Buck inverter(DBI) is a new topology which has the characteristics of high frequency and efficiency. But the output voltage of the bridge is a bipolar PWM waveform and voltage stress of the component in DBI is high, just like the half bridge inverter.

A diode-clamped multilevel inverter with voltage boost function

8th International Conference on Power Electronics - ECCE Asia, 2011
Multilevel inverters are mainly used in high power and medium voltage applications to reduce the required voltage rating of the power semiconductor switching devices. On the other hands, these multilevel inverters are attractive for various applications regardless of the power ratings because they can essentially realize lower harmonics with lower ...
