This letter reports diode pumping for dye lasers. We offer a pulsed dye laser with an astigmatism-compensated three-mirror cavity and side pumping by blue laser diodes with 200 ns pulse duration. Eight dyes were tested. Four dyes provided a slope efficiency of more than 10% and the highest slope efficiency (18%) was obtained for laser dye Coumarin 540A

A high efficiency laser diode array pumped Nd:YAG solid-state laser has recently been demonstrated.1 We report for the first time a diode array pumped rare-earth laser other than Nd. Laser action was observed on the trivalent holmium 5/7 → 5/8, 2.1-μm transition.

A review of diode-pumped lasers
2021Decreasing costs of diode lasers and increasing diode powers have gone hand-in-hand and so fuelled this interest in diode-pumped lasers. As these trends continue, so there is an inexorable move towards diode-pumped lasers of ever greater power. The earlier prevailing notion that diode-pumped lasers are free from pump-induced thermal effects, has long ...

Diode pumped alkali lasers attract growing attention during the past several years because they have demonstrated potential to compete and, possibly, replace the best existing high power laser systems. In spite of the fact that an optically pumped alkali (potassium) vapor laser was first proposed by A.L. Schawlow and C.H.

This study presents tunable laser oscillator based on diode-pumped Cr:Zn x Mn 1-x Se single crystals. Pulsed oscillations in tunable ranges 2290–2578 nm and 2353–2543 nm were demonstrated for Cr:Zn 0.95 Mn 0.05 Se and Cr:Zn 0.70 Mn 0.30 Se and the peak output power up to 177 mW and 94 mW, respectively.

Spectroscopic properties and laser output results of Pr-doped YAlO3 material under 1-W GaN-laser-diode pumping at various resonator arrangement (linear, V-folded, and microchip configuration) are reviewed and compared. Continuous output power of up to 140 mW in the near-infrared spectral range at 747 nm wavelength as well as 45% slope efficiency (with ...

Diode-pumped Nd:MgO:LINbO3 laser
Annual Meeting Optical Society of America, 1986Laser action in Nd:MgO:LiNbO3 was recently demonstrated by pumping with a rhodamine 6G dye laser operating at 598 nm. MgO-doping substantially reduced photorefractive damage in Nd:LiNbO3 but did not eliminate it entirely. True cw room temperature laser action was possible for propagation along the c axis (F‖c) but not for ...

In this paper we describe the design and performance of diode-pumped organic lasers based on the poly(paraphenylene-vinylene) derivative MEH-PPV. To achieve the very low oscillation thresholds required for direct diode pumping, we use a novel surface-emitting distributed Bragg reflector cavity.

Room-temperature diode-pumped Yb:KYF_4 laser
Optics Letters, 2006Continuous-wave laser action has been demonstrated in a diode-pumped Yb:KYF(4) crystal. Crystal growth, spectroscopic measurements, and laser results are presented. A maximum output power of 505 mW, a slope efficiency of 43%, and a continuous wavelength tunability range of 65nm, from 1013 to 1078 nm, have been obtained at room temperature.

Crystals for lasers with diode pump
SPIE Proceedings, 1996Results of the latest research of the record characteristics of diode-laser pumped solid-state laser and physical properties of crystals for these lasers are discussed. Crystals, possessing one optical axes and having strong polarization dependent physical properties, and, first of all, absorption coefficient on a length of a diode pump wave and ...
