An All‐Optical Driven Bio‐Photovoltaic Interface for Active Control of Live Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bio‐photovoltaic Interface (BIO‐PV‐I) for live cell manipulation is presented. BIO‐PV‐I can be activated non‐invasively and remotely to control the spatial motility, adhesion, and morphology of cells adhering to it. BIO‐PV‐I uses a patterned light‐induced electric potential in iron‐doped lithium niobate crystals whose light‐driven and reversible nature,

TOPOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF THYRISTOR CIRCUITS

open access: yesAcademy Journal of Science and Engineering, 2009
The paper utilises the network topology in the analysis of a thyristor circuit – an oscillating chopper. The graph of the chopper was developed following which the complete incidence matrix was formed.

Zener diode controls switching of large direct currents [PDF]

open access: yes, 1965
High-current zener diode is connected in series with the positive input terminal of a dc supply to block the flow of direct current until a high-frequency control signal is applied across the zener diode.

Nanoscale Mapping of Plasmonic Charge Transport in Nano‐Resonators Based on Resistive Switching Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this strategy, a conductive nano‐probe is employed to induce nanoscale phase transitions and map the nanoscale conductivity and trap density of GST films. By utilizing the contrasting properties of phase‐change states, nano‐resonators are fabricated that exhibit plasmonic conduction and dramatically different transport characteristics.

Injection-locked diode laser current modulation for Pound-Drever-Hall frequency stabilization using transfer cavities

open access: yes, 2011
A phase modulated RF current source is applied to an injection locked diode laser operating at $780\unit{nm}$. This produces tunable phase modulated sidebands of the laser suitable for stabilizing the length of an optical transfer cavity using the Pound ...

Elastomeric microfluidic diode and rectifier work with Newtonian fluids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We report on two microfluidic elastomeric autoregulatory devices—a diode and a rectifier. They exhibit physically interesting and complex nonlinear behaviors (saturation, bias-dependent resistance, and rectification) with a Newtonian fluid.

Understanding and Tuning Mobile Interfaces in Ferroelectric Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 Thin Films in Relation to Microstructure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectricity in thin HfO2‐based films offers great possibilities for next‐generation neuromorphic memory devices. There, the response to subcoercive voltage signals is driven by the movement of mobile interfaces and their interaction with crystal defects – a yet rather unexplored aspect, which we shed light on and gain new insights into the complex

A user oriented computer program for the analysis of microwave mixers, and a study of the effects of the series inductance and diode capacitance on the performance of some simple mixers [PDF]

open access: yes
A user oriented computer program for analyzing microwave and millimeter wave mixers with a single Schottky barrier diode of known I-V and C-V characteristics is described. The program first performs a nonlinear analysis to determine the diode conductance
