Laser-diode holographic recording
Optics Letters, 1986We report the recording of optical holograms in both holographic plate films and thermoplastic film using a commercial single-mode laser diode having a wavelength of 787.3 nm. Holographic film characteristics and laser-diode coherence length studies as well as experimental results with simple plane-wave holograms are discussed.

A foilless diode usually requires an externally applied magnetic field to control expansion and transport of a relativistic electron beam. A new foilless diode has been developed that does not require an external magnetic field. A low pressure organic gas is introduced into the diode and the transport region.

Compact laser emitting diodes of gallium-aluminium-arsenide are now available for incorporation into clinical lasers in ophthalmology. These lasers are cheap and have low running costs. They are portable and their wavelength of emission (810 nm) may be advantageous in certain clinical situations.

Diode Laser and Fractional Laser Innovations
Facial Plastic Surgery, 2019AbstractLaser technology continues to increase in popularity and expand treatment options for patients with common but challenging skin conditions including facial telangiectasias, facial aging, striae distensae, and acne scars. Facial telangiectasias have been estimated to occur in tens of millions of people worldwide.

The 20-year-evolution of high-power laser diodes with a multitude of device designs that explore various practical applications is presented. The four major applications for high-power diode lasers, namely pumps for EDFAs, YAG rods, disk lasers and fiber lasers have a tremendous impact on the selection process in this evolution.

Directly diode-laser-pumped Ti:sapphire laser
Optics Letters, 2009A directly diode-laser-pumped Ti:Al(2)O(3) laser is demonstrated. Using a 1 W, 452 nm GaN diode laser, 19 mW of cw output power is achieved in a potentially portable format. Pumping at this short wavelength induces a loss at the laser wavelength that is not seen for the more typical green pump wavelengths. This effect is characterized and discussed.

GaAs Laser Diode Pumped Nd:YAG Laser
Applied Optics, 1974A 1.5-mm by 3-cm neodymium-ion doped YAG laser rod has been side pumped using a GaAs laser diode array tuned to the 8680-A absorption line, achieving a multimode average output power of 120 mW for a total input power of 20 W to the final-stage laser diode drivers.

Diode-pumped Cr:LiSrAlF_6 laser
Optics Letters, 1991A Cr:LiSrAlF(6) laser is diode pumped with both commercial 10-mW visible laser diodes and a higher-power 100-mW cw, 265-mW pulsed diode. Polarization combination of pump diodes to reach threshold is demonstrated with two low-power lasers. Pumping with the high-power diode produced powers of 19.9 mW cw and 78 mW pulsed.
