Three‐dimensional Antimony Sulfide Based Flat Optics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents the development of a grayscale electron beam lithography (g‐EBL) method for fabricating antimony trisulfide (Sb2S3) nanostructures with customizable 3D profiles. The refractive index of g‐EBL patterned Sb2S3 is determined based on the synergy of genetic algorithm and transfer matrix method.

Effect of KH560 treatment on corrosion resistance of Al-Al2O3-silane composite coating

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2020
The 45 steel was sealing treated for various time in 6%(volume fraction)KH560 solution after the hot-dip aluminizing-anode oxidation. An Al-Al2O3-silane composite coating was formed on the surface of the 45 steel.

Fabrication of Tapers and Lenslike Waveguides by a Microcontrolled Dip Coating Procedure [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
A technique for the fabrication of tapered and lenslike waveguides from solution-deposited thin films is described. Using a microprocessor controlled dipping arm, substrates are withdrawn from a solution with a carefully controlled and varying velocity ...

Operando Temperature Sensing at the Actual Electrocatalytic Interface by Nanodiamond Quantum Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By integrating a wide‐field microscope with a custom‐designed electrolyzer, nanoscale temperature changes can be recorded in situ during the electrolysis process without interfering with ongoing electrochemical reactions. This method establishes a correlation between the interface temperature and specific electrochemical reactions, making the measured ...

Contact Lens with Moiré Patterns for High‐Precision Eye Tracking

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a passive contact lens for high‐precision eye tracking, integrating a microscopic moiré grating label. The parallax‐induced shift of macroscopic moiré patterns enables angle measurement with 0.28° precision using a standard camera under ambient light.

Surfactant effects in the Landau–Levich problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In this work we study the classical Landau–Levich problem of dip-coating. While in the clean interface case and in the limit of low capillary numbers it admits an asymptotic solution, its full study has not been conducted.

Intrabandgap States Engineering in Functionalized Nanodiamond to Generate Solvated Electrons for Photocatalysis Under Solar Illumination

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The negative electron affinity of diamond allows to emit highly reductive electrons. By introducing intra‐bandgap states and an optimized electron transfer mechanism by surface functionalization with Ru(bpy)3, the formation of solvated electrons is achieved upon solar irradiation.

Eco-friendly polysaccharide coatings for antifouling and drag-reduction and potential application for marine devices

open access: yesFriction, 2023
Traditional antifouling agents usually have a certain toxic effect on marine environments and non-target organisms. In this study, Dictyophora indusiata polysaccharide (DIP) was applied as a natural antifouling surface modifier to prepare the surface ...

Zwitterionic Self‐Assembled Monolayer for Simultaneous Noise Suppression and Hole Extraction in High‐Performance Near‐Infrared Organic Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a new hole transporting material (HTM) mechanism for self‐assembled monolayers in near‐infrared organic photodetectors. The formation of zwitterions induces a strong electric field that significantly increases the work function of HTM‐coated indium tin oxide substrates. The devices exhibit low dark current and noise, along with high
