3Y-TZP dip-coated with Zn-containing calcium silicate layers: development and characterization

open access: yesCerâmica, 2021
Coating layers based on Ca3Si3O9, Ca2ZnSi2O7, and ZnSiO4 on 3Y-TZP ceramics were obtained by the dip coating process, using SiO2-CaO-P2O5-ZnO glass suspensions with Zn contents in the range of 0-20 mol%. The influence of the Zn content in the dip coating

Drying Dip-Coated Colloidal Films [PDF]

open access: yesLangmuir, 2011
We present the results from a small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) study of lateral drying in thin films. The films, initially 10 μm thick, are cast by dip-coating a mica sheet in an aqueous silica dispersion (particle radius 8 nm, volume fraction ϕ(s) = 0.14). During evaporation, a drying front sweeps across the film.
