Characterization of the complete mitochondrial genome of Diplostomum baeri

Parasitology International, 2020
Despite Diplostomum baeri (Dubois, 1937) being one of the most widely distributed parasites of freshwater fish, there is no complete mitochondrial (mt) genome currently available. The complicated systematics presented by D. baeri has hampered investigations into the species distributions and infective dynamics of the species.

Polymorphic microsatellite loci for the trematode Diplostomum pseudospathaceum

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Notes, 2004
AbstractWe present primers for five polymorphic microsatellite loci in the eye fluke Diplostomum pseudospathaceum (Trematoda), a widely distributed parasite with a complex life cycle used as a model for parasitology and fish immunology. The loci were identified using a GA/CT‐enriched genomic library by subtractive hybridization with magnetic particles.

In vitro cultivation of Diplostomum spathaceum and Diplostomum phoxini metacercariae

International Journal for Parasitology, 1974
Abstract Using a new egg macerate medium Diplostomum spathaceum metacercariae were cultured to the stage of egg production for the first time, and an improved vitelline and growth response was obtained in Diplostomum phoxini. The importance of physical factors in the cultivation of strigeoid trematodes was demonstrated. Methods involving a continuous

Katepsiny L cerkárií Diplostomum pseudospathaceum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This study is focused on cercarial cysteine peptidases of the trematode Diplostomum pseudospathaceum. It follows previous research which confirmed the presence of a 24kDa cysteine peptidase in cercariae biochemically and by mass spectrometry. It was postulated, that the function of this peptidase is histolytic, when cercariae penetrate the tissues ...
