AN UPDATED PHYLOGENY OF THE CONCHOSTRACA — CLADOCERA CLADE (BRANCHIOPODA, DIPLOSTRACA)
Crustaceana, 2000[An updated phylogenetic analysis of the Conchostraca and Cladocera (Branchiopoda, Diplostraca) is presented in response to a recently published critique of Olesen (1998). Some errors are corrected and some scorings are modified. Practically all earlier conclusions are supported.

Abstract Serrated microstructures on the growth lines of some fossil conchostracans have been previously regarded as a key characteristic for judging the family Afrograptidae. Consequently, more than 20 relatively diverse genera were assigned into Afrograptidae based on the presence of serrated structures.

Here we attempt to clarify a faunistic composition of branchiopods from southern Tajikistan and the southern part of the Tajik Pamir Plateau (Central Asia) based on samples collected from June 24 to July 6, 2023. In total, 19 species of branchiopods were identified from plain West and South Tajikistan, and 27 species were recorded in Tajik Pamir.

Abundant Triassic spinicaudatans from China have been commonly assigned to the genus Euestheria Depéret & Mazeran. However, recent SEM-based studies have revealed that many of them do not belong to euestherids, as evidenced by their distinctive micro-ornamentations, revealed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
