A Dual-Port Single-Dipole MIMO Antenna Pair Based on Selective Modal Excitation for 5G Metal-Rimmed Terminals

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
This study presents a dual-port single-dipole MIMO antenna pair, which is accomplished by selectively exciting the dominant dipole-type current mode and the second higher current mode of a single suspended metal strip. A magnetic coupling method based on

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

Decoupling of Dipole Antennas by a Split Loop

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2018
The decoupling of two very closely located resonant dipoles by a similar dipole located in the middle between them has been recently demonstrated. An approximate analytical model of this decoupling was built, validated by exact numerical simulations and confirmed experimentally.

A Dislocation Perspective on Strength and Toughness in Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Dislocations in ceramics enjoy a long but yet under‐appreciated history. The three research waves for dislocations in ceramics highlight the topic evolution over the last 90 years. This review focuses on the impact of dislocation on strength and toughness in ceramics.

Ferroelectricity in Antiferromagnetic Wurtzite Nitrides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We establish MnSiN2${\rm MnSiN}_2$ and MnGeN2${\rm MnGeN}_2$ as aristotypes of a new multiferroic wurtzite family that simultaneously exhibits ferroelectricity and antiferromagnetism with altermagnetic spin splitting. By strategically substituting alkaline‐earth metals, we predict new materials with coexisting switchable polarization, spin texture, and

Broadband Wireless Optical Nanolink Composed by Dipole-Loop Nanoantennas

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2018
In this paper, a broadband wireless optical nanolink with plasmonic optical nanoantennas is theoretically proposed and analyzed. The nanolink is formed by linear dipole-loop nanoantennas for transmitter and receiver.

Mechanical Behavior and Fracture Mechanisms of MXene/PVDF Nanocomponsites: In Situ Characterization and Multiscale Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale experiments and modeling reveal how Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets reinforce PVDF nanocomposites. An optimal MXene loading (∼1 wt.%) nearly doubles tensile strength through efficient stress transfer, flake alignment, and crack‐deflection mechanisms, transforming ductile polymer behavior into a controlled multi‐stage fracture pathway which aligns ...
